Never heard of him
Reminds me a lot of when we went up against Derrick Williams of Arizona in the 2011 E8
13-14 Payne - 16.6 points, 7.3 boards, 1.2 assists, 0.9 blocks, 0.4 steals, 78% FT, 43.8% 3pt, 51.5% FG
10-11 Williams - 19.5 points, 8.3 boards, 1.1 assists, 0.7 blocks, 1.0 steals, 74.6% FT, 56.8% 3pt, 59.5% FG
We were able to get 3 1st half fouls on Williams, wouldn't hurt to do the same to Payne.
Very tough game, MSU is a better version of ISU and with the small lineup we gave up uncontested layups or a gillion offensive boards and easy putbacks.
If MSU shoots a good %, 35 or more from 3, I don't see a way to win, if they struggle and get into any foul trouble we can be in this game until late and have a chance to pull it out.
Bottom line our Huskies NEED to rebound the basketball in this one……2nd and 3rd chances will render us in foul trouble and Dawson scoring a lot not he weak side.
Yes. It will be interesting to see how they start out. Even if they start with Nolan he won't play more than 5-6 mins unless lots of foul trouble. Not to 2nd guess anything, but I will anyway, why didn't KO give all of Nolan's mins to Facey?
Nolan is terrible, a more experienced Facey at this point in the season could be a better option.
Yeah. I just don't think Nolan is nearly as bad as people say. He's a solid back up center, who happens to start to make sure the guy who gets starters minutes doesn't get into quick foul trouble. When's the last time Facey has played significant minutes? If Ollie threw him in there now, kid would get run over. Can't play him now.
Nolan is bigger and probably plays better D. He's a 5 foul guy, but serviceable enough.
