I feel really bad for this girl, she has worked to hard to get where she is. But, she is tough and will rehab and come back next year stronger. Good Luck, Brianna

UGH. That's the worst news ever. I feel horrible for her. So now on one team we have three girls who have torn their ACLs? It's just so awful.

She was having a breakout year. I'm so sorry for her, even though, I'm confident that she'll come back 100%. My thoughts and prayers are with her.

Crap! Talk to Caroline and Shea to learn. Best wishes!

Sue Bird did pretty well post-op!

Who was it in the game thread who said that all knee injuries for us end up as ACL's? And that pretty much all of them are initially reported as a knee sprain? Kudos to you, whoever you are.

Lousy news for her. The team will adjust. These injuries are too darn common.

It is still inaccurate to say. You can sat most but it has not been always.

ASweet, I believe.

This sucks. At this point, I would be shocked if this season's result was better than the previous two. Which would be a great result for most programs...but not an NC. Seemed like such a minor collision in the moment.

Does anyone know if it is feasible, and welcomed by UConn/the team/players, to send a card (to BB, UConn WBB, Gampel?). I know it may seem kind of old school, but I'd like to write her to tell her how much I admire her dedication to improving and contributing to the team, how thrilling I found her game, how saddened I was to learn of her ACL tear, and how confident I feel that she will come back from this injury and have two wonderful seasons, and that every UConn fan I know is thinking of her and sending her prayers and best wishes. Would a card reach her?

I hate that the "Banks" is closed for the rest of this year. Few teams are exempt from the injury bug. It was only a matter of time before we got bit again.

I am sure Brianna will work hard on her rehab. She has (unfortunately) plenty of support among the team and coaching staff who have been there and can help her through the tough times.

Merde. :(

At least Brianna will have some undertanding support around her from Shea and Caroline. If Sue Bird is still around rehabbing her hip, maybe she can serve as a reminder that even after a torn ACL, your bball career can still turn out pretty darn well.

Best wishes to BBanks.

I just started a new job and dont' have time to do it. :( However, for people that would like to send individual cards to Briana, or if someone wants to collect all the posts to print out and mail to her, the address is:

UConn Women's Basketball Office
2095 Hillside Road Unit 1173
Storrs, CT 06269

Sorry but NO gifts, no flowers or anything like that. Unbelievably, that's an NCAA violation.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for Brianna. I don't know if I am paying more attention, or if the incidences are increasing, but the sport seems to be plagued with ACL injuries this season. My Cardinals have an ACL tear, two still recovering from labrum tears and a 4th with a chipped knee with deep bone bruise. Ugh!

Another really sensible NCAA rule...

Awful news on BB.......The injury bug continues to bite and infect the UConn roster. Quality depth is going to be tested going forward . Especially in the backcourt. Now is the time for Geno to strt to further develop that backcourt depth for a March Madness run.

Briana , we and Husky Nation will be pulling for nyour successful re-hab and return next year.

This is so tough. I've been a big fan of Brianna's right from the start last year. Despite all her struggles then, I always believed she has what it takes to be big at UConn. And now, just as she was proving that to everyone, this. ACL. Well, I still have faith that Brianna will be big at UConn. Come back strong, gurl, show the world what you're made of!
