was going to mention the same thing... Seems that people were paying attention when WVU pulled the bat- crazy we're outta here routine.Hmmm, so they didn't wait until MD brought suit in the Md courts? Interesting ....
UConn doesn't 'blow up the ACC'.
People need to stop parroting message board nonsense as if it's fact.
im going to also guess that just like the acc exit fee, the b12 gor never works.
No, I think he's assuming it doesn't work because, well, it didn't work. Maryland left. You're assuming the ACC exit fee doesn't work because the ACC filed a lawsuit to compel its payment?

It wasn't supposed to keep Maryland from leaving. Only to make Maryland pay $50 large on the way out.

No, the intent of this or any of these fees/grants or whatever, is to make it so expensive for schools to leave that they decide against going. But it never works. It wasn't supposed to keep Maryland from leaving. Only to make Maryland pay $50 large on the way out.
I like your thinking Dan! But 2 questions:another talking point in all this:
the reason the b10 started with md is becuase they voted no to the 50mil buyout. they paired md with ruty becuase they are a nbe team that can easily get out. we already know this from wvu/cuse/pitt. so they get md and they are going to help them get that buyout down as much as possible. the acc sues. now md will have courts moved and plays games for a bit. eventually they will settle out of court for some where around the old buy out #. then, the b10 will turn around and tell uva to move and they will bring another nbe team with them. now lets say thats uconn. uconn easily goes just like ruty. uva then turns around and uses the md buyout as the price in court and boom. no the b10 hands are clean becuase they didn't try to add multiple schools at once and all that, they aded 1 school and others in the league are now looking as they feel when the buyout was put at 50 mil, this wasn't the same league we signed up for blah blha. now the sec will do its work and the b10 will go for the kill and invite unc. they will take 1 of bc/cuse and nd with unc and the game was all a big joke on swofford. b10 hands look clean compared to a big ugly sweeping grab.
I like your thinking Dan! But 2 questions:
1) The above scenario will take weeks/months. How does the BiG get UConn, assuming the ACC grabs them in the coming days? If UConn is truly a target for the BiG, they need to act quickly and can't afford to play chicken.
2) The above scenario puts the BiG at 16(+) teams rather quickly. Based on previous moves, why do you believe that they become the aggressor and are no longer one of the last conferences to react with the SEC/PAC assuming that they can pretty much get whoever they want, whenever want?
