I have done a 180 on this.
When it was first announced that Pitt and Syracuse were going, I thought, "man, we really should get in on that." Little panicky, little rational.
Now, there is no way I want to be going to the ACC. No way.
You know that scene with the Mexicans saying, "we don't need no stinkin' badges"?
That's how I feel - we don't need no stinking ACC.

Here's where they're at - a two team conference with a dozen so-so hangers on.

Throw in Pitt and Syracuse.

Pitt - worst season under Dixon in modern era.
Syracuse - from the summit of Nirvana to hell, in about 4 months. They may be DONE. DONE. They tank this tourni, all sorts of issues with how JB is running the program, recruiting guys to come play Wake Forest and Maryland and NC State and sh---y Pitt puts the program in a final dry dive. JB should be done. Time to hang them up. I've got 50/50 odds the school forces him out. Syracuse is a good academic school - they don't want to be laughed at by the nation because their coach isn't in control of the program. The guy kept this under wraps until today to ensure that he got his 1 seed. Shaky.

So the ACC could very well devolve further into a 2 team conference with 14 hangers on, all groping to try not to suck to high hell all season long and take their 4 beatings from the royalty.

ACC screwed up. Pitt screwed up. Syracuse screwed up.

Good. Very good.

The funny thing is they were brought in because of football. Jeezus they both have been average to below average for about 6-7 years now. The hoops gods in ACC country were loving them but I can see problems ahead. F em

i agree. i love the bigeast tourney and i hope we stay here.

memphis with its young coach as long as he stays will be a tough team year in and year out. I think they can replace Pitt.

Not sure about replacing cuse.. though.. rivalry wise

Five words can kill any warm feelings I have for this steaming dung heap of a conference...

I still want out whenever they will take us.

Yeah, nice try Prez. (I mean that.) You almost had me convinced. But not quite. New Big East = Atlantic 10. No thank you!

Don't want to leave anymore. I think it can equal or exceed the ACC, and we have the garden party.

Oh - you've all seem to confuse my not wanting to go to the ACC with me wanting to stay in the current Big East. Not the same.

It's a school with hot, rich girls that will do whatever it takes to win. What's not to like?

The Big East Tournament is always great to watch, even for fans of non-Big East schools.

I think we're under the ether right now. If Syracuse and Pitt compete at the top of the ACC, I think the Big East will be viewed as Not Nearly as Big. However, Cuse and Pitt will only play Duke and NC once per year, so they're really only junior members, IMO.
