ACC 2024-25 Season

How hard is it to look top 25 against BC? Let me know when State beats a real contender.

Eh. I mean on some level, I hear you. State went 0-3 against teams currently ranked in the top 11 (@TCU and neutral games against LSU and SC). They did beat Ole Miss who has spent the majority of the season in the top 25 for whatever that's worth and has a NET of 18. 2-3 in quad 1 games and undefeated against the rest of the quads. Seems about like a top 25 team to me, he wasn't claiming State should be a top 10 team.

I will say that State has a core of players on this year's team who we just saw go to the Final Four and take out several real contenders during that run as well as during the regular season. So it's not far fetched to give this State team credit or project they could round into form. Rivers, James, Brooks and Hayes are all known commodities and Wes is a solid coach. I expect State to be a top 25 team all season long.

Not against the Ducks

Historically:

Duke is 40-20 vs UNC since 1999

Duke is 14-6 vs UNC in the last 20 meetings

The series is 5-5 over the last 10

Duke has won 2 of the last 3.

I guess UNC did have a nice 2 year stretch against them, but that's about it.

Outside of Notre Dame, it's hard to come up with a better collection of ACC guards than the NC State guards. Maybe Georgia Tech. Duke is in the conversation, but our guards aren't as explosive offensively as, say, Aziaha James.

Interesting game between the Tar Heels and the Duck Blue Devils this week. Wonder if Duke will play well or fold again.

I’ll be interested to see if Fournier is available. That will make a difference for sure.
