UConn schedule - Based on the ACC news of the 10+1 schedule and SEC rumors of conf only schedule.

Looks like UConn will officially have four games left on the schedule when the does settles.
ND's old schedule before 10+1 was announced
Wagner is likely an option for us. You have to assume Miami won’t pay them to fly from NY to FL to play and will choose either Temple or UAB instead

Guess I should bet ND cancels the Arkansas game ahead of the Navy game given the the streak. Navy would have to head to South Bend per the new ACC +1 rules.

As it relates to currently schedules UVA/UNC games:

>>All non-conference game opponents, selected by the respective school, must be played in the home state of the ACC institution, and all non-conference opponents must meet the medical protocol requirements as agreed upon by the ACC<<

Too much $$ to just cancel the season. They will need to be forced away from the trough.

and still, there will not be a season. Maybe some games, but not much. NFL players reporting Covid now and their protocols are far more extreme.

Yes. But there are antitrust issues involved in groups of colleges cancelling contracts with those outside a cabal and not inside it. Not that anyone seems to care about antitrust issues in college sports.

The P5 conferences are engaging in dangerous and magical thinking. The entire fall plan is built around their conference TV contracts, not player or coach safety. I don't know the negligence statutes in every state, but if they are like Connecticut, there is no waiver for negligence. Which means, any player or coach that gets seriously ill or dies can sue the school and the individual AD's and presidents for negligence, and a schedule that takes no steps to protect the players could be all that is needed to win the case. It could also provide enough of a window for the schools' liability insurers to deny coverage. Also not clear if the state universities have to indemnify the ADs or Presidents if they do something that violates recommended state health or CDC policy.

Every school attempting to play will need to work hard to get buy in from the players and for some programs it just might not happen. Forfeits seem likely along the way.

For what it's worth, an ACC with Notre Dame as a full member can easily go up against the SEC in football.

Chestnut Hill...Boston College University announced today that it was updating its motto. The old motto, “Ever to Excel” is being replaced with a new updated version. Effective August 12, the schools motto will ”The only principal that matters is that upon which interest is paid.” For. William Leahy, the school’s president, said that the new, updated motto was intended to reflect the school’s more current values. According to Leahy, “Back in the old days, this institution tried to reflect Catholic social teachings and encourage students to reach for the stars. But, you know, since we get tons of cash for sending our football team to COVID hotspots, and we have no intention of giving up one penny, no matter how risky it is, we decided to change our motto to reflect our true values. This one does it”.

According the a BC spokesperson, other mottos considered included,
Show Me The Money, Anything for a Buck, and We’ve Established What We Are, Now We’re Just Dickering About Price. The latter motto had some support among faculty since it was based on a comment by a famous author, But the spokesman said The Principal one was selected because it sounded best in Latin.

Rough start to the Mike Norvell era at FSU:
No worries, FSU Fußball vor allem (football above all) and parents questioning coaching and athletic department cover ups never matter. Stay on the FSU storyline:

Potentially up to 1K tests may be available by some undefined date. Results possibly in up to 24 hours.

Enrollment > 40K fluttering about FSU campuses, communities, etc.

After all, it's just the Sunshine State with among the nation's highest SARS-2 infection rates and new 14-day cases.
