Abu Visiting Florida Today

Here's my glass half full spin for Mr. Abu not visiting until 8/24. Terrell is supposed to visit URI on 8/22. If Hurley gets him leaning URI's way and Joseph commits to Syracuse during or shortly after his visit this weekend, I'd say Abu will be a lot more agreeable to what KO has to say on his visit.

I think it's a matter of who requested the visit to be rescheduled. If KO did, I think it's strategic where it's much better to have Abu on campus with the whole team back showing the family atmosphere, along with the campus being more lively. Right now almost everyone on the team is at their respective homes, coming back shortly. If Abu and his coach requested the reschedule, then I think you have to just hope the visit comes to fruition and alll will take of itself.

Random Attractive Co-eds is a line item in the UF Athletic Budget.

I think it's good for UConn that he rescheduled so he had more time; how can that be bad right? The question is; what is your take on not getting on the Florida campus until 5:30pm then spending a few hours and flying back this morning? Was it purely out of respect for a school that has recruited him hard? That time frame just seems so weird to me.

Yes that seems correct. Looks to be a type of visit where he just wanted to confirm that he doesn't want to go to school there. I've read he is from Marblehead, MA which is a pretty wealthy town. So his parents probably have the money to take unofficial visits that other recruits simply can't afford. Obviously just an assumption.

One other interesting thing regarding Florida is Donovan. Does he negative recruit against his alma or does he help them if he realizes it's not going his way? I honestly don't have a clue and maybe none of this happens, but I do think it's looking like UConn vs. PC. One thing I will add is I think Hurley has a lot of momentum for Terrell and if that's the case I feel UConn has the advantage on Abu. Thoughts? A poster on here referenced Terrell's visit to URI and Joseph's visit to Cuse, those visits could very well seriously impact ABU.

No idea about Donovan's exact recruiting pitch, but he is a shady weirdo, so nothing would really surprise me. I still remember him basically stalking Rashad Anderson after he had already committed to us.

I certainly agree that I would not put anything past him but both he and his wife give big donations every year to PC so I wonder if this has any bearing on him. Noah is the only other player I can remember PC ever going up for against him. Maybe Eric Murphy as well. I assume that UConn has been matched up against him quite a few times.

I know that he went to Florida with his AAU coach, Ty Boswell, and not his family. Anyone know if his family and/or his AAU coach went with him to PC or NC State?

From what Abu has said, I think those things might come into play only if he doesn't have a clear leader. If UConn and PC are 50-50 than maybe Terrell choosing PC sways things. If Abu is leaning to UConn than I don't think Terrell going to/or not PC comes into play.

JMO. I also don't think Donovan could say anything that would carry much weight with him potentially choosing PC. He might, who knows, but I doubt it would make a huge impact.

Kid just seems to have a pretty level head and knows what he wants. Not saying he will make the best decision but he will make the decision he thinks is best and I don't think gimmicks will play a huge role.

I think Abu to PC may help them with Terrell moreso than vice versa.

Who does PC go after if it falls Joseph/Cuse, Abu/UConn, Terrell/URI? Maybe PM me to not clog up this thread.

These are the type of posts I don't mind from PC fans.

I believe his family was on both of those trips along with Ty Boswell.

I'm pretty sure he had a family member at both.

Billy D is very intense and a little Machiavellian; but a more earnest and sincere person you will not meet.

No way of knowing but if he did it for that reason wow!

Terrell now has a URI pick on his 247 crystal ball. That would certainly help us out.

Terrell would certainly be a featured player at URI. They'd probably build their team around him. Not a bad building block for URI.
