I agree I wouldn’t want to move to Arkansas.

But if you paid me a lot of money to pretty much be the biggest star in the state I could change my mind. I’ll be in one of those surrounding cities like New Orleans, Memphis, Dallas, etc. as much as I could with the NIL lol

We saw another kid decide to go to fricking Ohio last year. Anywhere but CT I suppose.

Take sports out of the equation. I put 4 kids through college. Some kids want to stay close to home and some kids want to get away a little. I actually encouraged my kids to go elsewhere while my wife wanted them close. It’s a good to go away and gain more independence.

This is just not true. I get you kept claiming that he was not interested in staying in CT, but that’s not true. UConn was his dream school. UConn was slow to offer him. Toure made 3 unofficial visits to UConn which is telling of his interest in UConn. Toure was just never a top priority for UConn. I like Toure and I think he has great potential and ability. I hope he does really well in college and hopefully in the NBA.

What are the thoughts on why this might be? Does the staff feel like his game or makeup might be lacking in a certain area? It did seem like he was into UConn early on. But the interest didn’t seem equally reciprocated. I’m just curious as to why that might be.

From when UConn was first connected to Toure to when the offer came the offer was quite slow to materialize… he had an unofficial visit to UConn in February of last year.

Just not what I heard. From a VERY reliable source. Over a year ago. Believe what you want. Never said there was “no interest”. Just that he preferred to go further from home. Unless the money was just undeniable. Maybe it was sour grapes from his side, idk. But I gain nothing from this lmao.

Who cares at this point? He's going to play for Cal, it was mainly a money thing. Uconn didn't prioritize and didn't think he was worth his ask. End of story. More a Uconn thing than a Toure thing. It wasn't a Toure thing - have enough intel on my end to feel firm on that end, from multiple sources.

Fayetteville is not like the rest of Arkansas. I lived in Fayetteville for a few years. It is a great college town, lots of resources (thanks to the Waltons), a thriving music scene, and lots of nightlife. Good fan base. Most of the rest of the state is a dumpster fire, but I liked living in Fayetteville. Very easy to be a big fish on campus in that town....
