I’m fine with him staying in the ciac especially because his team will be playing strong out of state teams in the non conference. There will be enormous pressure to win their 3rd state championship in a row and every game will be an event. Playing under that type of pressure will only help him.
They should play in a preseason out of state tournament preferably in the South. They aren't playing strong out if state teams in the non-conference. Maybe a game or two against similar level comp
In Springfield too for the Hoophall Classic. They should play in a preseason out of state tournament preferably in the South.
Sneakers adding 1.5 inches!?!? Why do I envision these kids wearing those Kiss platform boots.Correct. Which is why I asked. If he's 6-4 barefoot then he's probably about 6-5.5 in sneakers and would be listed at 6-6 in college. Like Karaban is 6-6.5 in bare feet but is listed at 6-8 because sneakers add about 1.5 inches.
The NBA Draft Combine doesn't measure them in shoes any more. Before the last 2 years they did though.Sneakers adding 1.5 inches!?!? Why do I envision these kids wearing those Kiss platform boots.
I just don't understand why they don't measure them in their socks. Added inches wearing footwear really doesn't count. Facts just no longer exist in the world of ours.
Smh. Good luck w that.I’m fine with him staying in the ciac especially because his team will be playing strong out of state teams in the non conference. Not true. They are actually traveling around the country for out of conference games to play high level teams and players specifically for Abdou. They aren't playing strong out if state teams in the non-conference. Maybe a game or two against similar level comp
When asked if he would be back Thursday, Toure said yes. When asked about the prep schools reaching out, Toure said, "I let my dad handle all of it. I don't really try to listen to that, I just focus on what I'm doing and try to win a state championship. I don't want to talk about it. That’s not something I think about as of right now. I'm focused on one thing, the state championship."
When asked about the importance of being back one more season with his teammates, Toure said, "It's really important. That’s why I come back every single year. It’s really important and the loyalty."
Mamoudou said he has been “getting tons of calls from prep schools, top prep schools.” He does plan to sit down with Shea after the season to discuss Abdou’s future.
That is the norm in any program. Mamoudou admits he is “very loyal.” He likes how his son has developed at Notre Dame, calling Shea “more than a coach.” He also praised Drew Roberts, a basketball skills trainer who works with Toure, and told Heart Connecticut Media last year that the workouts are daily in the off-season.
“He is always available for us to train Abdou. If Abdou goes away (from home), we’re not going to be able to (have) that,” Mamoudou said.
Shea said “it’s not a thought” in his mind that Toure would leave. Notre Dame has already filled its non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 season: all of the games will be played out of state.
Shea said there will be three games each in the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Florida and the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina next December. Then there is a return trip to the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Massachusetts, where Shea said the team will play a featured Saturday night game against a big-time program.
This is mainly because of Abdou Toure.
“kiss”? And crankiness about how bad the world is these days? BOOMERSneakers adding 1.5 inches!?!? Why do I envision these kids wearing those Kiss platform boots.

Remember the days of hightop fade haircuts that added 4-6"? Andre Jackson had a big head of hair too. Does hair count?“kiss”? And crankiness about how bad the world is these days? BOOMER
Not true. They are actually traveling around the country for out of conference games to play high level teams and players specifically for Abdou.
They have already scheduled 7 games out of state against the nations elite teams/players. They are going to play in the City of Palms Classic, the Beach Ball Classic, and the Hoophall Classic--which are all showcase events for the most elite players and teams from around the country.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple younger elite players join the roster for NDWH next year given the attention and visibility that they will get from Abdou and the level of play they will see outside of CT. They are likely to be on National TV a few times. Certainly not good news for the rest of the CIAC schools if they add elite talent to an already dominant team---no CT team may get within 20 points of NDWH next year.
Here is an article where this specific question was addressed:
Link to the Gametime CT Article
The teams they're playing at these OOS tournaments are not elite. NDWH isn't getting matched up with a team like La Lumiere who will destroy them by 60 points. That would be an ACTUAL elite team and players. NDWH is getting matched up against teams they have comparable talent to. No one is setting up NDWH for 50-point losses so Abdou can experience high talent levels.
Just like this year at HoopHall--NDWH lost by 10-ish points. That's not an elite team...it's a slightly better team at best.

If Jackson shows up at a tourney game with braids we’re definitely 3-peatingRemember the days of hightop fade haircuts that added 4-6"? Andre Jackson had a big head of hair too. Does hair count?![]()
Why wouldn't NIL be fair, if we want him?Want him to meet our new assistant coach.
Great shape here. As long as NIL is fair, he's ours to lose.
He's not getting the kind of NIL that is going on right now. Assuming the new revenue sharing model gets approved this summer, that will be in place by the time Toure is in college. And according to all the articles that have been posted on here, UConn should be in pretty good shape to offer as much revenue sharing as any school.Want him to meet our new assistant coach.

This is good stuff here, thanks for the insight.Want him to meet our new assistant coach.

have no idea why he switched but BABC is a more team concept than most AAU teamsDidn't realize he had switched out of Expressions to BABC. You don't see guys leave EYBL often. His Expressions 16u team was dominant too... so dominant he didn't really play that many minutes. Might be why the switch.
