Aaron Rodgers to Pittsburgh

Yes….quarterbacks can check off the play. But Rodgers does it incessantly.

The Jets have Breece Hall and they threw the ball the 5th most in the nfl last year. Good teams don’t do that. Many a drive last year stalled out as Rodgers checked off of run plays to throw the ball away as he tried to run from d lineman.
The Jets just didn't move the ball in any way, shape or form last year. They couldn't run the ball. They couldn't protect Rodgers. He couldn't move out of trouble and throw downfield to weapons like Adams and Wilson. Little checkdowns or passes under 10 yds.

At one point in the early half of the season, he had similar numbers to Zach Wilson the year before.

I don't think he'll be any better than last season stats-wise. He has a better line but far worse weapons. He'll show flashes of MVP Aaron but, at the end of the day, he's cooked.

He will probably start strong in the season…of course he will pass for 400 yards and 4 TDs agaisnt the Jets….but his age will catch up with hiim like last year. He will get banged up and get even less mobile.

I will admit he is tough….he played through a lot of injuries last year. But that might have been to the Jets detriminet. Taylor was probably better than a banged up immobile Rodgers.

Thoughts?

I really like Tomlin and I hope this works out and gets the Steelers back to the playoffs.

I think Mason Rudolph was the better choice.

Rooneys need to move on from Tomlin, but they have a long history of being loyal to a fault. Probably another 9-10 win season and zero playoff wins, as has been the case for a decade.

By his own admission, Rodgers never connected with his spirit animal last season. I'm sure his recent nuptials were calibrated to aid his journey. That could be good news for the Steelers.
