As others have pointed out, most likely we are now in the 4/5 matchup in the AAC Tournament, either against Memphis who will be the home team, or SMU, which has beaten us twice and is a bad matchup for us. Brutal loss today.

Interesting that you focus on Memphis being the home team and SMU having beaten us twice. However you fail to mention that UConn has beaten Memphis twice including a game in Memphis...Just an oversight or just looking for negativity?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it would be tough to beat Memphis for a 3rd time this season, and a 2nd time on their home floor.

In the 4/5 game, I'd rather face SMU than Memphis for all the reasons mentioned above.

Well except that we've looked like crap against them twice, but other than that...

I would rather play Memphis @ FedEx then SMU again.

Strength against Strength vs. Weakness against Strength.

Three of the top 4 teams have our number. The
other one is due to beat us.

I realize I'm taking the really negative POV here but us being 0-2 vs SMU is a different type of 0-2 than what Memphis is to us.

After today, it's possible UConn gets the 3 seed, but it would require a win against Louisville.

If SMU loses to Louisville and @Memphis, then SMU drops into the #5 position. Memphis moves to #4.

So, if SMU loses to Ville and Memphis, and UConn beats Louisville, UConn would face a bottom 5 team in the quarters.

question: can a team not host tournament games if they play a certain % of their games there? is it conference or NCAA's?

UCONN has to beat RU too

Maybe I tend to look at things a little differently or with blue colored lenses, but I'm really tired of the threads about how bad it is going to be to face Memphis or SMU in the AAC or Cuse (well not so much now) or PC or UMass or Wisconsin, etc. etc. in the NCAA tourney.

We are UConn - we don't fear match ups - they fear playing against us. And if you want to win either tournament, you have to beat good/great teams. If you can't beat Memphis or SMU in the AAC, how can you expect to go anywhere in the dance? Do you really expect the red carpet ride of upsets to have two easy tourneys or are you ready to play and beat some legitimate teams in order to get some new hardware in the trophy case?

Stop with the whining and get on board with winning.

Well, yeah, and the other teams have to win their games against the bottom 5 as well. Heck, UConn can even finish first if teams like Rutgers start knocking off the top 5.
