It is known that she is smart, a proven leader on the team, and has a smart basketball IQ.
Why not propose that if you stay one more year then after your WNBA career is over, you will have an assistant coaching job here with me at UConn?

Morgan should listen to the Breanna sound bite on ESPN. The one where Breanna says something like once you leave college, you can never get that back. So I'm going to savor every minute of it. Morgan has an opportunity to experience a whole other year of the college experience. And as the clear leader of the team. As Geno told Morgan, she can get 25 shots a game next year.

I don't think its practical. For one, an assistant coaching position would have to open up at the perfect time. Hence, why Shea was at Pitt for 5 years until a position opened up at UConn. The current staff has been in tact for 6 years. It is possible that it could be multiple years between the time Morgan would want to get into coaching and when UConn could actually hire her. Secondly, Geno has stated multiple times that what is best for her is what she should do. Putting an offer like that on the table for her to come back would not be doing what is best for her if Morgan, her family, and even Geno think that this year is the best time to leave.

Then there is Maya's quote about how they were the hardest, but the best 4 years of my life.

I think, in order to get Morgan to stay, we should put her up on the Wall of Honor..... Then, next year, promise her that before all home games, before or after the national anthem, the crowd will celebrate her by having a "moment of reverence" where the assembled masses salute her banner on the wall..... If she will not take that deal, then I propose she be named honorary assistant coach for the entirety of the season.

Morgan should have been named an All American. I am piss!!!
She is an All American. But not in the first team. They will not give 3 AAs in the first team to a single school.
I believe that is enough for her pic in UConn wall.

How's this for motivation - If the Huskies win the national championship this year & she stays & they win again next season she will become the ONLY player - man or woman to win FIVE national championships!!!!!

Last year KML, Stewie, and Moriah were all WBCA First Team All Americans

Jewell Loyd, Notre Dame
Tiffany Mitchell, South Carolina

Oh, selfish, selfish, selfish. Let the bird fly.
I believe in allowing "this" bird to fly!! She has earned a change. Only US fans would gain anything if she stays.
She would get a bit of open adulation--but if she makes a mistake--God forbid. The money, the personal freedom,
and if I don't miss my prediction--she will be honored as a top pro even as a freshman.. Go Morgan--Fly and all real fans will bask in your successes.

A very nice dream. But I fear it is only a dream. Morgan Follow the money--and jump to Europe and retire in 4 or five years. Some dreams come true- some turn into nightmares....

While the requirement to be on the wall is an AA (I'm not sure what else)--it is impossible for me to think that anyone in Geno's historic march toward 11 has done more for the program and winning number 8910 championship than Morgan Tuck.

That's not true. They did it last year with stewie, mo, and kml

If SHE thinks it's time to move on, then she should move on. If she doesn't, I'm sure she will let us know. It isn't what's best for US. She gave us all we have a right to deserve.

i can't imagine a UConn player could be bribed with individual accolades and acknowledgements. Those sound like the kind of things players at certain midwestern or southern schools seek out. UConn players are more into the team.

I've a better idea. How about 100 BY-er crawling naked across 100 yards of broken glass while pleading. That will be more acceptable to the NCAA than this idea.

Which midwestern teams are you speaking of, if I may ask?

you may ask but i don't care to name names. it is more on the player than the program, but lesser programs have different trade offs in terms of personalities they will accept to get more talent.
