Watched a Tennessee game recently. Liked the change in team philosophy from defense and rebounds at all costs to plays and scoring. Fun to watch and if I happened upon a game, they might be an interesting team to watch.
Then came yesterday. Tennessee 139, North Carolina Central, whatever that is, 59.
I'm sorry, but even if you're playing the Little Sisters of the Poor, you should be able to control the game so you score....oh, maybe 110. I don't care how you do it, but at the end of the half, the score was 69 to 18. So what did they do? In the tjhird period, they popured it on, outscoring NCC 42-21, making the end-of-third-period score 101-39. I know, I know....... There will be people who say TN went to the three-point shots because they were that far ahead and didn't want to pound the ball inside. I'm not buying it. Work on your game, treat it as a scrimmage, but an 80-point margin of victory? Unsportsmanlike in the extreme.
