Personally, I'm not a fan of these quick turnarounds against teams we just played, but over the last four games, Creighton has continued to struggle, losing five of the last six with their only win a one-point home victory over Seton Hall.

On offense, Creighton has leaned more on their backcourt production, with Nik Graves and Josh Dix standing out as the most consistent offensive contributors while Austin Swartz has surprisingly shifted to a bench role.

Graves has delivered timely scoring, including a clutch three-pointer in the win over Seton Hall and a team-high 15 points in the matchup against Villanova, while Dix has provided steady double-figure scoring, adding 14 against Villanova and maintaining a reliable perimeter presence. Fedor Zugic has chipped in with key three-point shooting in tight stretches, particularly during late-game runs, and Jasen Green has contributed with energy plays, rebounds, and supplementary scoring inside.

One change in the rotation is top-50 recruit and Montverde graduate Hudson Greer is getting more consistent minutes off the bench, playing 20+ in three of the last four games. Best categorized as a big shooting guard, Greer is an excellent three-point shooter, but has a lot of potential as an all-around offensive weapon. At 6'7 215 and with the team's overall frontcourt issues, he's playing more of the 4 than the 3.

As shown below, McDermott has been mixing and matching to find the right balance, but he's struggled to find any lineup consistency.

I expect a better effort from the Bluejays this time. They outplayed Villanova in the second half of their latest game. Have to avoid the “trap game” as the four after this one will all be tougher (even Marquette has been tough at home of late)

It's a trap!!!
‘Cause what you see you might not get
And we can bet, so don’t you get souped yet
Scheming on a thing, that’s a mirage
I’n trying to tell you now, it’s sabotage

Coaching staff took a long look at Greer if I remember right.

You are correct. Greer is Creighton's highest-rated recruit in the modern era and maybe because he's a Montverde kid and with his size, I get a bit of a McNeeley vibe in his style.

Every season UConn has played against Creighton since joining the New Big East, Creighton has won the last meeting between the two teams. Let's change that. Tonight is a whiteout and they are honoring UConn legend Emeka Okafor. Can't lose tonight. L.F.G. !

Man, you really put out some good stuff! Thanks!

Well you got your wish, about the effort. Blue Jay's taking it to Huskies. Terrible foul shooting is dooming them.

Reibe and Ross need to play more.

Karaban needs to get healthy.

Tarris needs to take a long look in the mirror.

Help defense and FTs should be hammered in practice.

Are we sure Karaban is hurt or are we just assuming? Haven’t heard anything about an injury and he’s had plenty of bad games to suggest tonight was no anomaly. He’s a hot or cold kind of player.

The dude was clearly playing hurt and Hurley confirmed as much in his post game presser just now.

Which is inexcusable. So many players get to rest in this program when they aren’t 100% but we send a guy “moving like a cargo ship” (Hurley’s own words) out there to play 30 ineffective minutes.

That was the time to literally force some of these bench players into game action. At home. Vs 2 lousy teams. Like Reibe was vs Arizona. The fact our coach was scared to do it tells you everything about the current state of this program. Now who knows what version of Karaban you are gonna get for the 2 toughest games you needed him at 100%.

That’s the lesson of this year for me. Luke Murray’s system controls every aspect of the program. Recruiting, player evaluations, playing time of the roster , the acceptance of the appalling lack of physicality and quickness on the roster, the slow pace of play, being outshot by 20 at the free throw line (and the annoying conspiracy theories associated with it). And playing Karaban when he “looks like a cargo ship” because he has to be out there to make the whole thing work. We are clearly overlooking glaring flaws with some of these players as long as they can shoot the ball (Hello Solo).
