Two finalists, one game, one winner. Will the award have an effect on one or the other or both? Could be an incentive for Chiney but just may have her pressing. Interesting situation.

An interesting question and one we will never have the answer for with either player - they are both capable of being brilliant and both capable of not having great games regardless of surroundings. Very seldom does the FF produce the best basketball by any team or player on either men's or women's sides - most memorable but not best.
We had posts wondering if Stewarts less than brilliant play last weekend was because she new she had won a POY award and wanted to prove she deserved it. Don't buy that. And I don't buy that either player (or any others) will perform based on personal goals rather than team ones this weekend. BUT I will never know.

Tonite will be the stage for the great players of this year. This is when the best respond with their best. I think you can count on one UConn player and that's Bria Hartley. She's been a big game player since high schoo.. She will step it up. The question all season has been how can you compete with UConn and give yourself a chance. Uconn is healthy which is bad news for the teams in the FF. They dont get in foul trouble and that's another problem for opponents. The biggest question is how do you defend them one on one? You really can't. Stanford is not quick enough and Chiney will not outscore us by herself. Either will Thomas if MD makes it and either will ND even if Mabry McBride and Lloyd have big games. When UConn turns on their jets its over.

UConns guards defensively will be a tuff matchup for Stanford tonite. Expect alot of steals trying to get the ball inside to Chiney. Oorange and Ruff will have to come up big from the outside because the inside will be on lockdown. UConn by 15+ by the time Geno calls off the dogs. This one could get really ugly by half time.
