A new year of basketball: Dec. 30-Jan. 6

I'm sure the fine folk over in High Point are happy that I decided against attending the game today. HPU leads Upstate 63-40 headed into the 4th quarter.

Arkansas Pine Bluff is on the verge of getting its first win of the season over a D1 team. Playing at Mississippi Valley State:

I really like this PBP guy :)

Wisconsin - Penn State upholding the conference of parity

46-45 Wisconsin after 3Q.

BYU continuing to struggle. About to lose to Portland 57-48 in Provo. Their offense sucks, they've scored right around 50 or less several times this year, including pretty much every halfway decent team they've played.

Oh boy. I think I just witnessed an ACL tear. Purdue's Tamara Farquhar went down when her knee buckled inward going for a rebound. Ugh. No.

.-.
The renaissance of Wake is continuing. They're up on Georgia Tech 50-43 midway through 4Q. This team has found something.

Florida playing well vs Vandy. They may pull this off.

Vandy making a run now

I was just surfing all the womens' games today and stumbled upon Vandy vs Florida on ESPNU. FL up by 7 in 4Q. Holly Warlick was providing color during the broadcast.

Purdue has stormed back on a 9-0 run to tie the game vs. Rutgers with 4:30 left.

.-.
Wake Forest makes it two ACC wins in a row, upsetting Georgia Tech.

I'm confused. They showed a graphic that Creighton leads the all time series 13-3, but DePaul is 5-2 all time in Omaha. I think they got it mixed around on the first stat.

Missouri is taking us to the woodshed early. Missouri leads 14-5 after first media timeout. Mitchell has all 5 points.

Iowa off to a good start at Northwestern, up 17-7 in what I'd consider the game of the day in the Big Ten.

Indiana and Northwestern are the only remaining undefeateds in Big Ten play.

Renee Montgomery as analyst in the 2nd ESPN2 USF / Cinn game. She is a nice listen to me. Very high energy as might be expected.

The Battle for the BEAST starts now:

Depaul will try to maintain a perfect start against the Blue Jays.

Creighton's defensive style is a good foil for DePaul's offense, and they've given them trouble in the past. Currently up 24-23 in mid-2Q.

Wow, I just caught about 90 seconds of this before a timeout and Renee Montgomery is a total natural at this. Sounds like she's been doing it for years.

The problem with LSU is the problem with all but 4 teams in the SEC. They can just be totally flat - like today.

I see Mizzou has hit 8 of 15 threes in the first half. It's kinda how they shot in the 1st quarter at Tennessee.

Missouri has talent but I find their lack of leadership and toughness is what killed them early. LSU does not want to defend the 3 today and we have no good shooters outside of Mitchell/Pointer. If Pointer isn't on, we are in trouble. She is the only thing that helps Mitchell out and she has struggled badly today.

We are in deep trouble next year without Mitchell. Aifuwa is solid but she hasn't been consistent.

If we can't cut this lead to about 10 or under in the 3rd quarter, I think we lose.

LSU / Missouri game on ESPNU. Dan Hughes makes this game bearable.
