Nope still don't. A seven footer hitting threes and throwing it between his legs on dunks is not your average high school star. My opinion had nothing to do with the competition. If it bothers you that much compare the tape of Brimah from one year ago and the one above.

Do you realize how easy it would be to make a video of Brimah's highlights this year and show as good/better than everything there with the exception of two three point shots shown? And that would be against D1 competition, at least 4 levels above what that kid is playing against. About 1/3rd of the dunks were in practice with no defenders - pretty sure Brimah can do that all day long.

Nothing against the kid and hope we can land him along with someone with some more lbs. But it's a mixed tape of 3 second highlights. You kind of need a little more than two minutes of 3 second clips to evaluate how good a player is or is going to be. If you watched Drummond videos right after he committed, you would say UConn would not lose a game with him on the roster.

Social media is simply not an effective way to analyse basketball players.

I disagree. Brimahs highlights would be alley oops and that put back in the Cinci game (man that was beautiful). Kid is way more fluid on the court than Brimah and yes you can tell that from the layup lines. And I hate to break it to you but Brimah isn't draining threes anytime soon (I wouldn't want my center doing that anyway).

As for evaluating a player off of a two minute video, that's exactly what I was doing. Take it for what its worth, i know i am. Not sure why everyone is up in arms about me passing my opinion. For what's its worth (and I don't think it's much) Espn rated Brimah a 71 coming out of high school and this kid is already an 81.

Amidah's vid's in his Sr year were impressive, they were highlights. I mean this kid looks like a good one, love to have him but to compare his "finishes" (which rarely have anyone near him, especially in the lay up line which are half of them) in HS vs Brimah now and saying he's better at this point is really ridiculous!

Nolan and Brimah would dominate this kid if he stepped on the court today, they are older, bigger, and stronger. But he doesn't show any back to the basket moves so they only seem to have height in common.

He is definitely someone to keep an eye on.

True, and comparisons to existing college players like Brimah or Nolan are pointless. That said, while saying that he's a better player than Brimah is clearly wrong in terms of who could contribute at the D1 level today, I'd say he basketball skill level is higher. That's not surprising since, this kid has likely been playing since he was 5, and Brimah has been playing for four years. I suspect that there are loads of kids in HS who have a higher basketball skill level than Brimah, but will never even play D1 hoops.

That said, good looking recruit.

Regardless of it being a highlight tape, this kid is clearly very athletic. Even at 7 foot I wouldn't pencil him for the paint. Ollie has said he wants players who can handle the ball and make passes. This kid athletically has the versatility that KO wants, we just don't know how well he passes. He's tough to assign a position to. He has elements of all 3 forward positions. Maybe a PF is the right call.

Forget about whether or not he's better than Brimah and Nolan, the real question is - does this kid have any legitimate interest in UConn or are we arguing about his relative talent for absolutely no reason?

He looks Cody Zeller-ish. I'm not saying he'll reach anywhere near that level of play and be a top-5 NBA pick. (This is unlikely, obviously) It's just the first name that flashed through my head looking at him running.
