Faith plays for the same school where the Mabreys played.

She's been playing down low for Manasquan -- obviously filling a need on the team. Will let you know what I see. My initial interest for Manasquan, of course, came from seeing the third (and final) of the Mabrey sisters (she's a sophomore), but I'd heard -- now read -- good things about Faith. Thanks for making me even more aware of the Conn. connections -- didn't realize they were deep in many aspects of the family. Would seem to be very strong, natural and to some degree, subtle mutual interest if things (like talent and need) play out...for both Masonious and Mabrey players.

For some reason the South Jersey schools are always excellent at women's basketball and softball..part of it can be blamed on Tiny Green and NBS in Neptune....a very competitive basketball academy.there have been a bunch of Mabreys, Masonius kids and Clark kids (Faith's Mom is a Clark) who have been great players down there.....my daughter's school team here in Bergen County has won their NJ State group the past few years but when they go south to win the whole thing they keep on running into these excellent programs like Middletown South and Manasquan....

I saw you were from Bergen County and thought you might have an interest in this. I drove up to Paterson from Montclair (I'm an Essex County guy) and saw Saddle River Day play Queen of Peace in the Sectional B Finals. It was a very well played battle that saw the winning point scored with 7 seconds left and ensured with a steal with three seconds left. I went to see Michelle Sidor and she somehow scored 21 points despite the fact that she was faceguarded the entire time. The girl must've put extra miles on running her faceguard off screens to able to get the ball. And Queen of Peace is where the oft-transferred 6'4" Raven Farley-Clark (class of 2017) is. She had 20, but I thought she could've had more, given Saddle River's center was out with a knee injury. She's calm under pressure, hitting clutch free throws and a nice short jumper. Does not miss put backs.

Sidor can hit threes but what struck me most was her speed, ball -handling ability and willingness to take it to the hoop. She plays within the system, too. Unselfish. Only a frosh...will be interesting to see what happens....

That the Mabreys (ND) and Masonius family (UConn) are on the same HS team (Manasquan) is pretty interesting (Ok, ironic even). I'm going to try to see that team play in the sectional finals this week.

Slu I was going to get on her about that Cherry picking from the previous video also. Glad you mentioned it first. The forced/bad shots I agree is correctable with the right coaching and emphasis. Is there any doubt in your mind that she is #1 in the class at this point?

I haven't seen Nyah Green play so not sure. I just know that Brunelle is very talented and has a great upside with time and coaching. With that stroke and her aggressive mindset she's gonna score. Of that I have no doubt.

She seems very efficient and doesn't appear to force anything. Good qualities, indeed!

FYI - NY just cut Jenkins from the training camp roster. That was a pretty short drink of water she had in the WNBA - hopefully someone else takes a look, or she gets a good gig overseas and comes back next year for another go round.

A few more observations:

Brunelle's huge rebounding numbers as a frosh must have a lot to do with the level of competition because so far I'd say she's an average rebounder at best for her size.

She posts up a ton and rarely gets the ball passed into the post.

Post-passing aside, she has some very good teammates. Several of them shot better than her from the outside in these vids.

One of the top freshmen prospects in the country (#2 on ASGR), Brunelle is a multi-dimensional, 6-2/6-3 forward. UConn has attended her practice this year and she's being watched by all the big schools.

In the past week she has had these stat lines:

52 points, 26 rebounds, 5 blocks

The best overall prospect at the event due to her combination of size, skill and IQ. Brunelle dominated. She is effective on the block, a very good shot blocker, a willing and precise passer and has college 3-point range on her jumper already. It's scary how good she will be when she graduates in 2019 from high school.
