Because the way he handled leaving was questionable to say the least. If he had made the kinds of typical statements that coaches make when they leave a program, and if he wasn't actively trying to poach us, he probably would catch less heat. But given the way he's handling his departure, it isn't surprising that he's burning the goodwill that he would otherwise have.Pretty clear this decision was to get back to his and his wife's home area while he still had the chance. Probably wouldn't have the same option next year. So he makes a decision based on family considerations and left this program much better than when he found it. Don't understand why there are folks who want to vilify him on this board. But hey, it's the Boneyard.
