Great article and well deserved. My dad and i live hundreds of miles apart but talk everyday, about uconn M + W basketball. Even in the summer. Anyone who sarcastically calls athletics "sports ball" doesn't know how important a connecting factor it is.

This goes back aways but my dad used to send me newspaper articles on UConn men's basketball in his letters to me, which discussed a lot of things, but often basketball. I could not agree that sports is a tremendous connecting factor. In fact, it's often one of the first things that we would talk with our future fathers in law about. It's common ground and an easy conversation.
