UConn has been hitting the season tix holders emails with promos. No special offer, just kind of a "come on down" (because you-may-know-what's-coming) deal.

The brain trust in UConn's sports marketing department, and their special events team will put their heads together (think outside the box) and come up with something that gets those last 900 seats sold. Whenever there's a will, there's a way.

I don't think you can GIVE tickets to legislators especially to lobby them - and then there is the issue of the third casino (near MA) and MGM lawsuit re: casino in Bridgeport...

I have a better one - I have four groups that deserve any complimentary tickets more...............................

1. How about they give tickets (or find a business or two to buy them then donate them) to senior citizens that reside in senior assisted living homes (and arrange for free transportation if needed from a transportation company that would be willing to donate a bus or two and drivers for the evening). I'm sure some of those seniors would love the chance to get out of the house and embrace the opportunity to make some new friends, young and old. The drivers would of course get in free, as well as receive complimentary food from the snack bar courtesy of the casino. The complimentary food can also be extended to the seniors on those buses as well.

2. Local active & retired military personnel and their families. A small way to say thank you for your service. No doubt some of them would love to attend.

3. Local high school girl's Varsity, JV & freshmen basketball teams and their coaches. A chance for team bonding, and to see in person how the game is suppose to be played.

4. The local boy's & girl's clubs are still an excellent outlet for giving tickets away to our local youngsters that would love to attend a game, that may not otherwise get to go.

What a great way to disperse those last 900 tickets if they can't sell them. It will be a special night for Geno. It would also be a special night for any of these groups of folks that would receive a ticket. What a wonderful way to give back something to the local community as well.

There isn't a "bad" seat in the MS arena. I had seats at the very top of the lower bowl near a corner and the view was very good. The seats above my head were not that much further. This isn't MSG nor even the XL.

I've been there. You can usually tell the quality of a seat by what the price is. If the Governor goes to the game, you know where to look for him.

I've been to a couple dozen games at the casino. Probably more at Gampel. IMO it's no contest between the two. The Sun arena has better access, better parking, better seats and better concessions. It's hard to find a bad seat in the arena.

Incidentally, the last time I looked there were 4 court side seats available behind the UConn bench. The "Uncasville ticket resale" site has them priced at $233 each. Ticketmaster has a few lower bowl end zone and corner seats going for $70-$90. Most of the remaining seats are in the upper rows of the upper bowl.

Upper rows in the upper bowl = Bob Uecker seats.

exactly... the lower bowl of the XL Center is the top of the Sun Arena. There's not a bad seat at the Mohegan Sun unless you're in front of a slot machine.

That's thinking outside the box. Dangle a carrot in front of your would be customers. Some of them will take the bait, some won't. You have nothing to lose by making the offer.

If you are a real fan, and want to SEE THE GAME, you are better off staying home and watching it on TV. I know some people who don't see a game all season long, but go to the Final Four every year.....just to say: "I WENT TO THE FINAL FOUR."

Monte, I'm out here in the bay area of northern California. I would love to be at that game, even if I was relegated to sit in a "BOB UECKER seat. I was at the UCLA game, and can't begin to say how much I enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere in the arena that night was electric. Almost that of a post-season tournament game. Remember, BOTH teams came into that game undefeated.

UConn fans that live locally, and can go to Gampel or the XL Center anytime they wish, don't appreciate how fortunate they are. They've seen so many games in person, at this point, it's no big deal anymore. UConn has fans that show up at every venue they play in across the country.

You'd be surprise how many Husky fans are out here in the western region. I would be a season ticket holder if I lived in within 75 miles of the campus. I would have bought my ticket months ago for Tuesday night. I'll have to settle for watching history being made on TV.

Kinda harsh Monte. The very best way to see football is on TV, with replays and isolation shots but stadiums still fill so that the fans can be a part of the excitement.

I've been a Uconn wbb fan for almost 25 years and because I live at such a distance I've only ever been to Gampel once. I'd be buying some sort of ticket package if I lived close enough to attend more regularly and it's not because I think that you can see the game better from the stands; it's because I want to be a part of the excitement of being there.

When I have seen them at the XL Center or The Garden I watch the replay at home afterwards to see what I missed by being there. Still I won't soon forget Saniya's three from the corner against Maryland even though from where I was sitting (surrounded by othe Boneyarders) I didn't see the ball leave her hands.

What we all felt (us Uconn fans) as the ball passed through the net was worth more than the price of admission or the effort it took for me to get to NYC.

I also like the excitement of being at a game where the adrenalin from the crowd seems to energize the team. The best times I've ever had at a game were BE tournament games at MSG involving the men. But as much as I enjoy being at a women's game the level of excitement is several levels lower. I stopped going mostly because my knees made the price of the walk too steep but even when I attended games I felt like I was anywhere but at a basketball game. I don't know how many times I stood to cheer a run only to look around and see maybe 3 or 4 other people within 20 feet standing with me. I've never seen a more sedate bunch in my life. They seem to applaud the first basket only because it means they can sit, which is where they stay till halftime and they get up to go to the concessions.
The only games I've been to in the last several years that had any semblance of crowd excitement have been regional NCAA games in either Bridgeport or Albany, or the Maggie Dixon game at the garden where I sat surrounded by BYarders.
