Bottom 4th, with 2 runners on base and 1 out, Smith is caught stealing at 3B. Freeberger with a 2 out RBI single, 8-6 UConn. Studley follows with a 2 run homer, 10-6 UConn.
 
Freeberger the RBI king with an RBI single after Smith was thrown out at 3rd. 8-6 UConn. Nice response.
 
Bottom 4th, UConn offense leaves 2 runners on base after scoring a bunch of runs, 10-6 UConn.
 
Dalena now with no doubles, no triples and 3 HRs among his 12 hits. SH hitting .441 so far today; the Huskies .571.
 
Top 5th, leadoff hitter reaches base on a Smith error, runners moves to 2B on a wild pitch. Ellisen strands the runner at 3B, picking up 2 strikeouts in the process. 10-6 UConn.

At some point I expect we will see Afthim and Fogell out of the bullpen, will it start next inning?

Top 6th, Ellisen starts the inning still on the mound. Afthim warming up.

Everything today has been hard hit - even the outs. I love our approach today.

Chris Jones says the 10 run mercy rule is in effect for this game.

Simmons has had a good game as well, with his 2 walks and now an RBI single. When Huber gets back, I can see Morton moving up in the order and Simmons manning the 9 spot.
 
I just started watching the game this inning, man what a difference from last night!

I thought we were going to mercy rule them there for a second.

Simmons has been getting a bunch of walks all season when he has played, so he has a very nice on base percentage even when his batting average isn't all that high.

Afthim is right up there with Fogell and Willis for me. He's a great reliever for us.

Our starting pitching might be sketchy but with this bullpen, we can easily win a war of attrition in a regional. Really happy with the way the pen has come together.
