Top 4th, Ellisen gives up a walk loads the bases. An infield single with runners on the move brings in 2 runs, 5-4 Seton Hall. Another RBI single that puts runners on the corners makes it 6-4 Seton Hall. A fly out finally ends the inning.

My goodness, what has happened to Cooke this year? Probably needs to be moved to mid-week starts to get right again.
I can’t remember if we ever heard what the injury that sidelined him was?

.-.
And just like that, we are back up.

Smith can kill you in so many different ways....walks, speed, power. What a leadoff hitter.

Might have, but I can't remember now either. I do remember that he got hurt around the time of the Stanford playoff game last season which affected his performance in that game. Cooke was nursing an injury during fall ball as well.

Bottom 4th, with 2 runners on base and 1 out, Smith is caught stealing at 3B. Freeberger with a 2 out RBI single, 8-6 UConn. Studley follows with a 2 run homer, 10-6 UConn.

Freeberger the RBI king with an RBI single after Smith was thrown out at 3rd. 8-6 UConn. Nice response.

Bottom 4th, UConn offense leaves 2 runners on base after scoring a bunch of runs, 10-6 UConn.

Dalena now with no doubles, no triples and 3 HRs among his 12 hits. SH hitting .441 so far today; the Huskies .571.

Top 5th, leadoff hitter reaches base on a Smith error, runners moves to 2B on a wild pitch. Ellisen strands the runner at 3B, picking up 2 strikeouts in the process. 10-6 UConn.

At some point I expect we will see Afthim and Fogell out of the bullpen, will it start next inning?

Bottom 5th, after first 2 UConn batters reach base, a double play puts a big dent in a potential rally. Scoreless inning for the Uconn offense. 10-6 UConn.

Top 6th, Ellisen starts the inning still on the mound. Afthim warming up.

Top 6th, after a leadoff single, Ellisen faces the minimum with the help of an inning ending double play. 10-6 UConn.

Ellisen is today's Coe / Kirby.

Padilla with an RBI single. Another 2 out rally.

Everything today has been hard hit - even the outs. I love our approach today.

Garbowski with a leadoff double. He's smacked the ball well today, with 2 hits and at least 1 loud out.

Bottom 7th, Garbowski with a leadoff double, UConn offense piling up the extra base hits today. Morton follows with a hit by pitch. Smith with a no out RBI single, 12-6 UConn, runners on the corners. Simmons follows with a no out RBI single, 13-6 UConn.

Chris Jones says the 10 run mercy rule is in effect for this game.

Freeberger with an RBI ground out, 14-6 UConn. Sac fly for Studley, 15-6 UConn.

Simmons has had a good game as well, with his 2 walks and now an RBI single. When Huber gets back, I can see Morton moving up in the order and Simmons manning the 9 spot.
