Wash, rinse, repeat. Wake me up if USC ever finishes ahead of them.
If USC returns everyone except Sanders, while adding C/F/G Marshall, 6’5 Clarice Akunwafo, and UVA transfer Shemera Williams, sure sounds like a team that should finish near the top half of the Pac12.

They've had plenty of talent before. Always underachieve. Did you see how they flat out quit down the stretch this year? Like I said, let me know if it ever changes, I doubt it.

Amihere has a huge upside. I’ll be interested to see who plays more next year between she and Feagin. Once Amihere slows down a little and lets the game come to her, it’ll be a scary sight.

Oregon State had to keep Jones and the floor and hit their threes to pull off the upset and failed miserably at doing both. A game where two of their forwards go scoreless is a game where they miss Kennedy Brown’s defense and rebounding inside.

Georgia Tech is not a great offensive team, so I could see South Carolina’s next game being somewhat similar to this.

Do you think she’ll start next year with all the great guards coming in
Yes. Benching her would do nothing but probably make things worse. Though those three could/should push her for minutes. Rivers will also push Beal for minutes if she can defend at a similar level and still be a scoring threat.

Congrats to South Carolina. Sorry OSU couldn't give the Gamecocks a better game. Proud of our young, inexperienced OSU team. Very bright future next year if Goodman returns. Hard to win, when you cannot make a bucket. Taylor Jones silly fouls in the first few minutes of the game doomed OSU. Put all the pressure on the 3-point line, and USC did a great job defending. Best to USC rest of the way.

Classy post. Best to OSU. Always been a fan of Reuck. Was nice to see him and Dawn kiss and make up after barking at one another during the game. Lol

Beal wants no part of the offense and that's going to cost her the job next year if it doesn't change.
Just because she sacrifices her game ? You are one of the most basketball knowledgable people on this forum and I am shocked you took such a one side view of Beals contribution. . Surely you recognize the elite Ball Screen Defense she played last night took points off the board for OSU;the premise being that lmiting points is just as critical as scoring points. She ranks in the 93rd percentile nationally in both defensive rating and defensive win shares per 40 minutes which is elite. .

It's amazing how much can change in just one game. Suddenly SC goes from habitually lackluster to steamroller. It's clear they took this challenge seriously and they were up to it.

Well, we were up to the offensive challenge that the Beavers presented to our defense.

The seemingly "lackluster" problem arises when our offense has to be called upon to match an opponent's excellent offense

Don't get me wrong, I think Beal is going to remain an important part of the rotation regardless.

Someone is going to have to come in ready to take the minutes from her and that's probably much less certain than maybe I implied.

While I think that South Carolina is one of the teams that could win the title this year, I'm not sure it should be a favorite.

Looking at future matchups with UCONN, Baylor, Stanford, Oregon, I'm not sure Carolina will be able to afford defensive specialists getting the lion's share of minutes. IMO, she has lost some minutes this year because of the offensive side, but it's hard to say.

I just think she probably can't continue to pass up or look uncomfortable taking wide open shots. Or rather, I think that's not ideal.

South Carolina has never had much issue with its defense this year.

The problem is whether Carolina can score enough against good defenses.

Several times this year it hasn't been able to.

There isn't an opponent that I think Carolina can't beat. But as I said before, it's a little unlikely every coin flip goes our way.

But the farther we get in, the more likely it becomes. Here's hoping.

Isn't the NCAA's current leader in points-per-game in your region?
