Why doesn't Ollie know it's important to get on the refs?

Because Ollie coaches like it's an 82 game regular season where half the league makes the playoffs.

NBA coaches don't start working refs until the playoffs.

We are having the same conversation almost every other game in the Ollie era. The refs are taking him to school and costing us games. They have zero respect or fear of the guy.

I remember when he stepped out to challenge the refs vs. Louisville 3/14 and Maryland 12/15, he was lambasted for being out of control and how dare he hurt the team's chances of winning.

No matter what he does, the guy can't win.

can anyone confirm if Purvis was 10 feet inbounds when the ref said he didn't establish? We were in a bar, looked totally outrageous but perfect timing

Fouls 27-12
Free throws 34-9
Traveling 5-1?

and one mysterious out of bounds call on Purvis, an absolute crock of sh!!!!t

Excuse my frankness but... you are an idiot who probably did not watch the game.

Kevin was animated and on the refs the whole game. At one point late during the game he was literally 5 feet on the court and right next to Lyle to argue the call while the play was still live. The commentators were saying all game how animated KO was on the sidelines.

somebody can't read a box score, hates simple math, shocking

no, we just don't play physical and our guards shy away from contact IMO. Yes, the Refs miss calls both ways, but the team had the same issue last year.

Yes. The ref pulled that call out of his ass. It happens about 30 times a night in college basketball games, and Ohio State did the same thing many times. When you see random crap like that getting called it has to make you question what's going on.

Okay they suck this year, we know you know and you think that way it's to obvious. When a team gets homed, they get homed. You would be the only one who watched it outside of Ohio who didn't think it mattered. It did, not on KO to make them change but it just happened. Still have a chance to win the game and you have to, people need to step up. Big rebounds the last 3 minutes went by our bigs hands and they fouled stupidly again too. Just too many inconsistent players, not very smart and not ready to jump in the spotlight, only Jalen is ready. Ohio St did a great job taking he 2nd half away from JA and no one made an open look and there were plenty. Jalen has to make that lay up but Thompson also hit him on his left arm, make the call.

To me, this is a good explanation. Typically.

But not tonight.

Tonight, we saw Adams getting hacked on drives. We saw Ohio State fire up shots from the outside on posession after possession. It wasn't our guards who were in foul trouble. It was our bigs. It had nothing to do with OSU driving. It had everything to do with fouls called on rebounds by our bigs.

Just getting in from a Christmas concert. 9 vs 34 foul shots? Sounds like MAJOR homie refs. This must top that ass 2 years ago that went out of his way vs UConn.

Play more physical? We are talking about ticky tack, touch fouls here. Our best big Facey got 3 straight ghost fouls which makes it impossible for this already undermanned team to compete.

And people think the solution is "more physical play"?

I thought the reffing was terrible and when it almost took half a shot clock for the refs to notice the clock hadn't actually started sealed it for me. As a UConn fan the reffing was pretty frustrating. As a college basketball fan that game was atrocious. No one wants to watch a game where the refs blow the whistle every other time down the court.

Blaming refs when you lose makes you a loser. We did not lose this game because of the refs. We lost because we have one guy who is a human turnover and hasn't improved one lick in 4 years. And because of the predicament we're in, he will be playing 35-40 minutes a night for the rest of the year.
