I would still be mad at Pitts for taking that shot if I was a coach lol
In a way it worked - they got 2 for 1 out of it. Might be giving her too much credit to think she had that in mind ... but maybe she did.

ND coaches watching Nixon transfer and go off for A&M

What do you mean? It's totally cool that ND has been searching for a PG since Lindsay Allen and Patberg, Nixon and Clark are in the Sweet 16.

Doesn't hurt my feelings at all. No sir.

I'm glad the game wasn't decided from the foul line.
The officials, in the end, let them play.

So, of the four #2 seeds, Baylor was by far the best. Isn't UConn lucky? /sarcasm off
Baylor, UCONN, Maryland and Stanford seem like in a different hemisphere compared to the rest of the field right now. Shame UCONN and Baylor couldn't make the final four at the same time.

SC is very good as well, just not convinced they have the offense to do it this year unless their guards get very hot.

I think both of these teams would not have made it very far in the Riverwalk group, but they had no choice but to play each other in this weak group. Joens clearly the best player on the floor. The last 2 plays were tailor made to get her to the line and she was fouled both times, clearly...but the refs swallowed their whistles. Really a shame when the refs decide the game by bad calls and non calls. If it’s a foul with 5 minutes left it’s a foul with 5 seconds left. Terrible result. And Joens’ dad should be not allowed in the building!

By far? Maryland on line 1 for you.
Yes, I forgot Maryland. But why should UConn get either Baylor or Maryland in their bracket? I would argue they both could be #1 seeds.

Well look at it this way... if UConn beats Baylor.. they get the Land Grant Champ in the National Semi-finals.

I'm so glad A&M is revealed to be the team I thought they were. At this point, they're bound to get bounced badly by Arizona, NcState, UConn, Baylor, or Stanford, etc. Just feels inevitable eventually, but they can cry croc tears over getting by the skin of their teeth today.
Arizona looking sketchy, not sure if they could take out A&M.

edit--jeez, looking at the bracket I could see them making the Final 4, even though they shouldn't have made it out of the 1st round...or 2nd.

I think they can. A&M got a lot of easy layups against Iowa St. They're gonna get those less against Arizona. Gonna be a low scoring game imo but Arizona can easily win.

I like AZ but that offense is nonexistent and lost more often than it probably should be.
Is it just me or was Zona’s offense better last year? They have more pieces this year, but the chemistry hasn’t been found.

As I said in another thread, you can't base everything off the eye test when seeding. Baylor's resume was terrible. If they got a 1 seed it would've been a travesty.

That's gonna be one ugly plodding game. Could go either way IMO.

Not understanding why you're suddenly marking out for A&M. Especially after what they got away with in the 1st round. I would understand if they were in the Atlantic Chumps Conference, but...

Meh.... Iowa State annoys me.. they have for years. Plus I want to see the ultimate Land Grant, Play in the Shadows Regional Final in TAMU vs State. You can argue that no two schools.. with the possible exception of Michigan State are overshadowed by the flagship institutions in their state as much as the Aggies and Wolfpack. Heck the Aggies left for the SEC to escape the Longhorns shadow... and you would find plenty of State fans who would gladly leave for the SEC if it meant leaving the Tarheels behind. @LETTERL would you agree or disagree?

Your obsession with the land grant thing is quite intriguing and a bit bizarre

Baylor is playing like a 1 seed and has been for the last month. Them and Maryland are both on fire on both ends of the court.

That said their resume didn't earn a 1 seed. They had very minimal top 25 matchups and they lost to Iowa St at home (yes I know they had just come off the COVID break).

Too many TOUCH and PHANTOM calls in the women's' game. Being crowded...may instinctively cause someone to swing elbows, BUT, if you make contact...it's a foul. If that was let go, then let them play. Both teams gave it their all. Well done, ladies.
