There's a reason colleges track graduation rates on a 6 year basis. For most people, it takes more than 4 years to graduate collegeI don't like it. Four years in college is one of those basic things that you could count on, and now it's out the window
To be fair, it's been out the window for at least 6 years now. The number of waivers is insane. Guys who played 4 years of 30+ games are looking for waiversI don't like it. Four years in college is one of those basic things that you could count on, and now it's out the window
Yeah I get that. Still seems like a basic standard to try to followTo be fair, it's been out the window for at least 6 years now. The number of waivers is insane. Guys who played 4 years of 30+ games are looking for waivers

I hate it but I understand why Baker is trying to do it/doing it. There was way too much mayhem and challenges for waivers. As much as I hate it I hate it way more right now with all these 25 year olds and guys looking to be in college for 6-9 years. The implementation for it needs to start next year though, there's already way too much mayhem right now.I don't like it. this makes way too much sense, so the answer is no, they wouldn't have any interest in doing soI'm not a fan but I could support it under a few conditions.
First, a player gets a 5th year if has spent at least the previous 2 years at the school.
The student is taking post grad classes and maintaining a healthy GPA.
The players 5th year NIL money is limited.
I have my reasons and I don't know if the NCAA would be able to implement any or all of them or would have interest to do so.
It's funny, we all seem to oppose. We seem to oppose most of this nonsense. It almost makes you wonder whether they care about us fans at all....Oppose. I hated the Covid year. I thought it was really bad for freshmen. It ultimately reduces the total number of people who get to play college basketball.
really? most people or athletes? I think 95% of people I went to college with finished in the standard 4 yearsThere's a reason colleges track graduation rates on a 6 year basis. For most people, it takes more than 4 years to graduate college
They care about money. That’s it. They don’t care about fans or the game or even (and especially not) academics in the slightest. It's funny, we all seem to oppose. We seem to oppose most of this nonsense. It almost makes you wonder whether they care about us fans at all....
Well, that’s what this rule eliminates. No more “getting hurt every year, I get another go!” bsEventually we will have players playing 15+ year careers in college. It’s a fully professional league sport now. All the pretense of “school” will disappear.
Or college basketball should adopt the football rule to play 33% of the season and still redshirt. That would be valuable for everyoneoppose, 5 years to play 4 and schools/players should start utilizing redshirt years with more frequency for guys who aren't going to play except garbage time minutes. I wish Jayden's first year was a redshirt like his brother.
