It's not really a PG problem, imo.

The bigger talent loss is Herbert-Harrigan.

Taking her out makes the 3/4 spots not good enough and puts too much pressure on Cooke.
It's really not. It's a problem at the 3/4 spot. Amihere needs to emerge. I like Saxton's hustle at the 4.. but she's limited offensively. Beal gives you good defense at the 3, but almost nothing offensively. Rivers and Hall are both going to give her a run her last two years I think. Not sure how Dawn is going to keep Rivers on the bench if the same Beal from this year shows up next year. I feel like Rivers is day one ready.

SC's offense appears to be throw the ball up near the rim, get an offensive rebound and try to throw it up again.

This game reminds of how Sabrina Ionescu and her Oregon cast was killing Vic Schaffer’s Miss St team when McCowan and Anriel Howard couldn’t defend the pick and roll

I agree. I don't think we have the luxury of a defensive specialist at that spot.

Beal has not improved at all offensively from last year and that's not good enough when the 4 isn't efficient or a perimeter scorer.

One of those two spots has to be a scoring threat.

Henderson leads the SEC in assists with a 3/1 ratio and has shot it pretty well. She's not senior year Harris, but she's good.

Kentucky's lack of coaching guidance to settle the group down is showing itself right now.

Many bad possessions and lack of transition defense swung this game.

I think this SC team just needs more time together, including Henderson at the point. She's been better than pretty good with 39-13 Assist to TO ratio..that's 3 to 1. Ty Harris had 4 years at the point and was not a good scorer at all. While I get Rivers is highly rated, it's still a tall task to ask a freshman to lead a team with so much talent. We are seeing it at Connecticut but it's rare.

I posted this next comment on the Geno vs. Tara thread but the next four years will have 4 teams in my view that heads and shoulders better than the rest-
SC, UConn, Oregon and Stanford.

Kentucky is 1-12 from 3. No one hitting shots when open. SC just taking it to the rim and Kentucky isn't stopping them.

Wanna beat South Carolina? Put us on the free throw line the whole game. I'm not joking.

73-70 SC with 0:24 left, KEN possession out of the timeout.

That should do it. SC made more plays when it counted. That 15-2 run was the game.

If Kentucky wants to win a game like this other people besides Howard need to hit a few more shots. Howard carried that team as much as she could.

Henderson and Boston were the difference makers in this game. Henderson needs to work on running a team in the half court offense. She figured out that they couldn’t guard her catching the rebound and racing to the other end for 2 or a foul and it turned out well for the gamecocks.

Well played on that last possession, Kentucky. Their schedule at this point is a joke though. Basically they got SC and Tennessee left. Their true colors will be revealed soon!

I missed her first 2 fouls but watching Boston after she returned I was extremely impressed. I agree that Kentucky didn't offer much against her but she dominated inside, hit a three and followed her jumper miss to the basket for a putback. Too bad she will never win a title.
The rest of her team was ragged for large portions of the game and the entire time she was on the bench.
