I would imagine that the cost of a public school (compared to a private school) would make one more attractive now.
I went to UConn in the early-mid 90s. Only school I applied to. Zero regrets going there. It was a total blast. Only problem was I partied too much.I know about this all too well. I am huge uconn basketball and football fan. CT kid myself, but elected for Quinnipiac because it's smaller size and location. In hindsight I wouldn't have minded saving a lot of money by going to Uconn, but wouldn't exchange it for the 4 year experience I have had.
That is an impressive statistic.
What's Q running at now? $50k? $55?
With inflation being inevitable, that may help make the loans easier to pay off.Pretty close. I believe right around 48k. Only looked at my student loan numbers a couple of times and they are high enough already going into my last semester to make one lose sleep at night. Terrifying.
I went to Fairfield Prep. Cost $5K a year when I went. Now it's $16,400.a year.My youngest daughter graduates from Fairfield this May. Nearly $50,000 a year. Enrollment at Fairfeld was down nearly 200 students this past academic year.

Dez just confirmed it again on twitter. B10 numbers per Dez.That doesn't seem right. Only 3,000 slots?

Class of 2015 for Storrs was 3,225 students.I agree ... 3,000 does seem a little low. 17,800 total undergrads on the main campus and they would only allow for 3000 next fall? I think the number should be closer to 5,000.
Fifth year students and alot of transfers to the Storrs campus. Plus some majors are now five year programs. Pharm is a six year program.why 3,000 then? seems weird for a big school. 4 years of that and there will be only 10k undergrads soon left. what am i missing?
hmm, i'll take your word for it. i know the Kin program among others has 5/6 year kids. isn't law in hartford thou? but usually for every class if a thousand kids are let into a school like uconn. lets say 200 transfer out or leave, they will then let 100 come in for transfer so class #'s over time become smaller.(whatever the actual #'s are). so if uconn has 4 years in a row of 3k kids thats 12k. 5th year kids if all 3k were that makes 15 k and then 2+k in tansfers in without anyone leaving in order to get storrs #'s???Fifth year students and alot of transfers to the Storrs campus.

seems like they are trying to bring the number down to 15kish overall which will make thing smaller budget wise but also hurt the future brand and compared to other big publics we look small. uconn would be more selestive and still #1 in new england etc ups and downs of this...hard to sell more tix year after year with lesss and less kids to work with, no?
