I only mentioned Angela Salvadores going to Duke as she's a Significant Recruit for them and if she played in the US would be on the list. I realized she wasn't eligible.

What's said is the Top Players are going to few select teams.

genuine curiosity here. How does this work -Ms. Salvadores playing proball and retaining NCAA eligibility? I posted the following in reference to another European player and did not get any responses.

1. How can Cecilia maintain her NCAA eligibility and play with professionals as stated in this article?

I was able to find some clarification in this article Enes Kanter. “The NCAA bylaws consider a player who receives money above ‘necessary expenses’ a professional.” So that fits right in with your explanation of Salvadores and Zandalasini “supposedly” not accepting money to maintain NCAA eligibility.
The process then seems to be clear: The university must certify to NCAA that any money collected by the player while playing for a professional team is below or at the level of “necessary expenses”- which for the NCAA could be like treated the same way the supreme court treats pornography- they’ll know it when they see it.
There is some risk for the university in recruiting these “semi- professional” players which maybe what one of the other poster was referring to in a different thread reference Salvadores’ eligibility at Duke.

Can American players do this? I don’t see any reason why they couldn’t but many reason why they shouldn’t.

SCar did sign the #5 international prospect (per prospectsnation) G Shay Colley from Brampton, Ontario, Canada

Per a couple of SC posters, they are already loaded so they don't need anymore recruits. Luckily, Geno doesn't feel that way
