Top 6th, O'Donnell gets a ground out, then comes out of the game. Ian Cooke in to pitch. a 1-2-3 inning for UConn pitchers. I'm surprised Cooke would be used in a game with a 8 run UConn lead, but that's bullpen management for you.

Bottom 6th, UConn leaves 2 runners on base, it's the first inning where the Huskies did not score. 18-6 UConn.

Oops, that should be a 12 run UConn lead, not 8.

Bottom 7th, after an infield single by Brown and a double for Huber, a 1 out wild pitch brings in another run for UConn. 19-6 UConn, the bench players are coming into the game for the Huskies. With the bases loaded and 1 out, an RBI single for Simmons makes it 20-6 UConn. RBI single for Padilla, 21-6. Korey Morton gets 2 rbi's on a 2 out single, 23-6 UConn.

Bottom 8th, Simmons with an rbi triple to make it 25-6. If he had stopped at 2nd, he would have hit for the cycle.

Top 9th, Bobby McBride pitching.

Interesting to hear Jim Penders’ perspective on TC Simmons’ second triple “ruining” the chance @ the cycle and the baseball gods
