Huskies leaving a lot of guys on base. 7 thru 3 innings. Thats a stat line that will come back and bite ya.

Kersten gets out of a jam in the bottom of the 3rd, helped out by Thad Phillips gunning down a would be base stealer. 3-2 UConn.

We have stranded runners in scoring position every inning. This pitcher has really struggled, but missing our power bats definitely hurt us here.

Nucerino and Moriarty have done their jobs. I don't like the order of this line-up though.

Nucerino and Moriarty have done their jobs. I don't like the order of this line-up though.

I'd be inclined to leave Woodworth at the bottom of the order just ahead of Moriarty, and lead off with Nucerino. However, Penders has never been one to put too much pressure on an unproven player, so Nucerino ends up at the bottom of the order.

Last couple of innings UConn has gotten runners on after 2 out. Tough to score that way. Much better to get a couple of runners on with no out, such as what we have in the top of the 5th.

So much for that, UConn leaves two runners on base in the top of the 5th without scoring.

Wallace threw 30 pitches yesterday. I guess he could pitch the 9th, but I'm not comfortable with that. Plus, Poulin may be good, but getting 3.1 from him could be difficult.

Poulin promptly gives up a 2-out double. 2nd and 3rd two outs.
