Yea, this team has much to be proud of.

You know who doesn't have anything to be proud of? FAU. They had a bad call go against them in a tie game in the top of the 9th inning against Rice. They responded by stalling several times in the bottom of ninth (with two Rice players on and no one out) to force a curfew tie. As soon as the clock struck 4:15, FAU players sprinted off the field.

Proud to root for a program that would never do that.
That’s bull

UConn now has only 1 AAC road series left, with 3 AAC home series to play. The road series is against last place Memphis. Overall they have 11 home games and 6 road games left in the regular season.

More upcoming schedule tidbits. UConn has 4 more games against teams that currently have an RPI of over 200. Three games at Memphis (214) and a game against Sacred Heart (250). Everyone else on the remaining schedule currently has an RPI of 120 (Holy Cross) or better.

This team is winning games that were Ls last year but it's getting weird and squeaky lately
Still, being down folks this weekend it was time to show some onions and they sure did
Great job UConn

This team is tough as nails. Beat Cinnci without starters 1 and 3. Without 3 and 4 hitters. This is a trademark Penders team. At times they are infuriating because they raise the expectation and make things difficult, but they show toughness and that is hard to beat.

After the weekend...

Next weekends series:
Tulane @ UConn (gimme 3-0 for UConn)
Houston @ ECU (gimme 2-1 ECU)
WSU @ UCF (gimme 2-1 WSU)
Memphis @ USF (gimme 3-0 USF)
Cinci has a 3 game OOC series v Kansas (gimme 3-0 UC)

Baseball is so unpredictable (as is this team). Hopefully, this team is at full strength heading into the AAC tourney. With so many home games left on the schedule, they control their own destiny. They have to take advantage of playing at home. They just need to play above .500 the rest of the way. Beat the teams you should, HC, RI, SHU, and Northeastern. Take at least 2 of three from Tulane and Memphis. Don’t get swept by Houston and ECU. IMO, worst case scenario, they can go 9-8 the rest of the way. Anything below that means they’re losing to teams they shouldn’t. My hope is 11-6, play well against Houston and ECU even if they lose 2 of 3 in those series. Now, if they get healthy, play well, and can go 13-4 down the stretch (winning 2 of 3 against Houston and ECU), then a 35-16-1 record looks....

Hopefully a 2 seed io the Clemson Pod. I'll be there.

The fact that they are doing this with out Kate coupled with other injuries bodes well. They are swinging the bats very well. Shaking off the early Northeast cobwebs it seems. Got to sweep Tulane and win one of the ECU Houston weekends.

Thinking UConn (2-1), ECU (3-0), UCF (2-1), USF (2-1), and Cincy (2-1).

I have no idea how UH keeps winning with that offense but I wouldn't be surprised to see them get exposed. Kansas is awful on the road and the cats should win the Perez game and split the other two. I also think Memphis will eventually start winning conference games...I mean, they have to at some point, right?

Also, I don't expect to sweep a Tulane team that just beat LSU with all of our injuries. We should win the Feole game but past that, all bets are off.

If we don't get anyone back, a 3-2 week is okay. If we were healthy I would expect to wreck these teams but alas :(

I wouldn’t read too much into Tulane’s win over LSU. I think it’s been 3 years since LSU has beat them and LSU was in the championship last year.

I can't imagine why anyone would be rooting for a #2 seed with a team that is top 16 RPI and playing as well as we have been playing. The goal has to be to get a #1 seed somewhere.

I was just thinking- are home games really home games at this point for this team? They have been road warriors for so long that home is like another road game right now. They literally have no routine for a home game and between games at the Dunk and J.O., it will take time to develop a rhythm.

They would have to host? I don't see it. JO can't handle it.

1. As someone else said, Norwich.

2. You can be a #1 seed and not host. UConn hosted as a #2 seed one year, which meant the #1 seed was on the road.

I didn’t see this until today....the ultimate bat flip!!!
