Injuries have been brutal.

Cincy is friggin annoying...they are every year.
 
Kenny Bergmann throws out a base stealer to end the bottom of the 6th.

Feole has 10 strikeouts, 1 walk, 5 hits, 85 pitches, 1 run given up on the homer. 1-0 Cincinnati.

Perez is having a terrific night against a UConn team that has been hitting very well of late. Perez is by far Cincinnati's best starter, so let's save the Omaha comparisons until after the weekend is over.

Feole having an excellent game as well, has a 1-2-3 7th inning, is now up to 12 strikeouts. Only blemish is the homer, he is at 96 pitches.

Not saying Cincinnati is an Omaha team. Saying UCONN batting is making Cincinnati look like an Omaha team. Big difference.
 
1-0 Cincy going to the bottom of the 8th. UConn offense has 4 hits, 2 walks, 1 hit by pitch on the night.

1-2-3 8th inning for Feole. New career high of 14 strikeouts.
 
Double play ends the game, Cincinnati and Perez wins 1-0. 1 hour 52 minutes, I believe that is what Chris Jones said.
 
Big question is what happens with Zac Susi tomorrow and the games that follow. That's a big bat that might be missing from the lineup.

Couldn't have asked anything more from Feole. Surprising at-bats considering the run they've been on. The Susi injury is very troubling. Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

At the time Chris Jones was very surprised that Susi stayed in for the rest of that inning, said the whole thing did not look good. The swing took Susi's glove off.

Also, East Tennessee State 9-1 over Tulane. Not a conference game, but not a good result for the AAC.

Moriarty is in for Susi, and Fedko is back to Dan Hurley. Chris Jones was speculating that this would be the case during the Friday night game. Another option would have been either Nucerino or Bergmann at Dan Hurley.
