24-25 Preseason Rankings

UConn was #11 for much of this year. Now you’re replacing Nika and Aaliyah with Q and Ice and they’re gonna be top 10?
lol, no

No 11 If you think the AP is the last word on how good a team is. UConn spent most of the second half of the season at No 2 on the NCAA's NET ranks and No 2 on Massey. RPI had UConn No 1 for an extended period this season.

I agree that that post was a little over the top.

Looks like TCU is building a roster that can make a case for a top 25 spot.
How do ppl feel about Kentucky. They have their 24-25 roster up though I know they are still building.

A good PG and a good C are really all you need to make some noise, and they have those pieces. They'll be ranked sooner or later.

Thanks, I needed that laugh. You forgot about "adding" Jana, Griffin, Fudd, Ducharme, Patterson and whomever comes in via the portal, such as Beers.... oh, and 3 top 15 freshmen including the #1 Sarah Strong. They had a Sweet Sixteen team out injured last year and still made it to the Final Four AND were pretty much ranked #2 by NET all season. Q and Ice may not see much court time unless they get ALOT better and FAST.

How quickly people forget how individual performances from players like Hidalgo and Watkins changed the seedings landscape last year! Maybe Sarah could be a generational player! Allie won the girls and overall 3 point shooting contest handily at the McD All American outing recently. Maybe she will add a spark from the outside. Till the season begins, we can have fun speculating...

No I didn’t “forget.” I was responding to a post that said even without the recruits and the injured players, just replacing Nika and AE with Q and Ice would be a top 10 team.

Btw, very surprised to see that he has TAMU, Clemson in the field
Clempson Last Four In
Tennessee Last Four out.

Who can tell the difference ? Both Orange.

Like I care. May they both crash and burn as programs (not the players though)

My preseason ranks as of now + info on gains/losses. I'm sure I've made mistakes.

HS = High School recruiting class ranking
Schl = # of scholarships available (ie, room for transfers)
Losses = WNBA/Grad or TransferOut

You forgot Marshall leaving ND and Koval is coming in to replace her, Iriafen is not returning to Stanford but transferring to USC, I believe USC also lost Padilla to graduation and sadly Oklahoma picked up Beers...

My og post was before any of that happened. I’ll do an update at some point.

Depends on how you look at it.

But I'm not sure they are a top 4 team next season without another interior addition.
I'm not sure there's another post or strong forward in the portal that would make much of an impact..............it really depends on how well Ice, Jana and Ayanna play...........if they play up to their ratings it should be an outstanding frontcourt..........if they don't than UConn will struggle against their toughest opponents......

Dauda would help, imo.

See Gardiner just committed to UCLA.

I'd say UCLA, USC, and Texas have joined Scar in the top 4.

I'd say LSU, UCONN, Notre Dame seem poised right behind them. Maybe Oklahoma in that group.

One person's opinion. An aside, i love the emojis beside each of the teams names.

Respectfully to @triaddukefan but y Duke over Ohio State, Oklahoma or TCU
That's a good question.

I'd say that Duke's momentum (incoming recruits, last season's S16 run, zero portal casualties, return of VDJ, keeping Kara Lawson) should warrant Top 10 preseason status. I know people balk at the ugliness of the offense (and that may be addressed this upcoming season), but we'll see what happens with continued player growth (Reigan Richardson had herself an NCAAT in 2024) and added pieces. The defense continues to be elite. I'd like to get another defensive-minded big, but we'll see how that shakes out.

I thought about Ohio State (great portal haul), but there are some issues with them. First, they lost Jacy Sheldon. To me, that's a huge hole that doesn't easily get filled. Jacy was the heart and soul of the program, the team's best player on both sides of the ball, and the type of leader that any program would want to have out of a senior/fifth year player. Second, they're going to have to rely heavily on the maturation process of Cotie McMahon. I've been a vocal critic of hers on here regarding her poor attitude and the lack of growth in her game. She can be an All-American, but she'll have to work for it. For Ohio State to be a Top 10 team, she's going to have to grow up--pure and simple. I don't know that she's ready to take that leadership plunge. Third, I don't trust Kevin McGuff as a coach. He will find a way to come up short.

I didn't give Oklahoma much of a thought despite the addition of Beers. Right now, they are--at best--the 4th best team in the SEC. Not really sure if they'll be closer to the Top 3 (South Carolina, Texas, LSU) or closer to a team like Alabama (who I expect to be good but not SEC contender good).

TCU shouldn't be ranked at all to start the season, much less Top 10.

My lasting memory of Ohio State is them getting their arses whipped by a Duke team that returns 9 of the 11 players who suited up in the game. They lost a special player at PG and also the Big 10 defensive player of the year at the other guard spot. I know they picked up a haul in the portal but can't see them as a top 10 squad preseason. Oklahoma has a better case. But they play zero defense.

Salute. I actually agree with this pretty much. Completely forgot that Duke was the team to defeat Ohio State.

I'm high on Oklahoma - won the Big 12 and added a borderline All American but I get that top 10 may be a bit premature. I'm going to keep talking up TCU cuz I think they are being wildly underrated but top 10 is probably a stretch as well. I think Duke will be good next year, but top ten seems like really high expectations.

r/NCAAW - the top teams in the tournament.

The Trojans and Bruins are big favorites to finish 1-2 in the Big Ten and are now projected as No. 1 seeds. JuJu Watkins brings her star power to another part of the country after propelling the Trojans to a top seed and an Elite Eight appearance a year ago, and now USC adds top transfers Kiki Iriafen (Stanford) and Talia von Oelhoffen (Oregon State). The Bruins did the same, adding Charlisse Leger-Walker (Washington State) and Janiah Barker (Texas A&M)

Last year it was LSU, who not only won the 2023 title but added "superstars" Van Lith and Morrow and were anointed as a "super team".

I have no picks yet but I won't be even slightly surprised to see NDame with a 1 seed.
