Tyrique Harris is a 6-1 205lb LB from Clearwater Central High School in Clearwater Florida. Previously committed to Toledo.
Senior Year High School Stats/Highlights
Mora clearly had spent enough time asking himself "what if" that he was ready to move and invite players to join him on day one. Candle may not have begun thinking about a plan until he accepted the UConn offer.I'll be honest I'm shocked at how few Toledo decommits (2) and portal jumpers (0) there have been since we hired Candle.
It's still early to come to any conclusions, but it is concerning.I'll be honest I'm shocked at how few Toledo decommits (2) and portal jumpers (0) there have been since we hired Candle.
I think portal wise you have a team where Candle created a culture of loyalty so they may players only announce portal till after their bowl gameIt's still early to come to any conclusions, but it is concerning.

Our ex-coach had been planning an exit strategy for a while, by his own admission. His name and prior relationships with commits were enough to sway several players that previously committed to UConn. Our new coach has only formally been at UConn for a week, he's got 2 commits to switch to UConn, albeit from his former program, and he is back in the mid-west now (per what I read), likely on another recruiting hunt. I'm going to err on the side of caution and think that Coach Candle needs to get his team assembled while simultaneously going out to recruit. There's some inertia to overcome. I'm impatient as the next fan, but he needs time to build infrastructure...I'll start panicking if we haven't added anybody else after New Years.I think portal wise you have a team where Candle created a culture of loyalty so they may players only announce portal till after their bowl game
Patience...still early.I'll be honest I'm shocked at how few Toledo decommits (2) and portal jumpers (0) there have been since we hired Candle.
There’s gonna be more of these once a few of the assistant coaches get hired.I'll be honest I'm shocked at how few Toledo decommits (2) and portal jumpers (0) there have been since we hired Candle.
Im sure there's more that already know they're coming and just haven't announced anything publiclyThere’s gonna be more of these once a few of the assistant coaches get hired.
This. He has a lot more more money to spend now. Spending it all on MAC level players won’t work. Especially, with the schedule we have next season. He needs a higher caliber player. We’ll get more Toledo guys but hopefully only the best ones.Maybe Candle is looking at a different caliber of player to bring to UConn. These two fit the bill.
Hopefully but it's also year 1 and there's gonna be a LOT of roster spots. If a guy can play he can play.This. He has a lot more more money to spend now. mora left prior to signing day and Candle after. It’s more difficult to de-commit after signing. I would expect some when portal opens and next signing period.I really didn't have big expectations that Candle's last Toledo class was going to come running over here. I could see his FL and non mid west players making the switch, but I think the midwest players might not be in a race to leave their backyard.
The fact that signing day was coming up in a few days may have added a sense of urgency with a deadline coming up for those former UConn commits as well.Mora clearly had spent enough time asking himself "what if" that he was ready to move and invite players to join him on day one.
