2026 UConn Football Commit - Makijah Latiker (Fayetteville, North Carolina)

Not picking on you but this drives me crazy. By definition, there is no such thing as an “un commitable” offer. Offer is a legal term. For there to be an offer, it requires that the offerree be able to accept it (and in this case be given a scholarship to play for Georgia). If you can’t accept it, it’s not an “offer” of any sort, it’s interest.

And again, not picking on Huskyforlife because the whole recruiting website industry uses the terms the way he is using them. But it’s just not correct and it irks me.
Contingent offer? I’ve never seen the terms, but if there is contingency in writing that makes the offer binding then it is a legal offer. But, I agree it shouldn’t be called an “offer” if it’s just “I’m offering you a spot, but it’s contingent on me saying yes based on who else commits in the future.”

Just making the world better everywhere you go.

Makijah Latiker is a 6-6 250lb DL from Trinity Catholic High School in Fayetteville North Carolina (Previously committed to Toledo). Other offers from Charlotte, Delaware, Georgia, North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Central University.

Highlights

Here is Makijah’s recent write up by Toledo on their recent signing day recap

Makijah Latiker is listed as a three-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 41 player in North Carolina's class of 2026 by Rivals. He made the all-conference second team in his freshman and sophomore seasons at Trinity Christian and the all-conference first team his junior and senior years.”

Welcome, Makijah to the Dog Pound! I believe we have a great recruiting coach!! Can't wait til signing day....

If anyone doubts the existence of an offer they should do some research before questioning it on a public site with UConn's sports being discussed. It's embarrassing for the player and those of us on the site that want to make the best public impression not only on the player in question but also his family, friends, and other players that may be considering UConn.

Go to the various recruiting sites and see what they show. It's easy. If you only see six or so and a school in question isn't there, look for the link that says something like "more offers", or "see additional offers", and like magic more offers will be added to the list.

LOL. I reserve the right to be irked. If no one cares, that’s fine.
Hey, It was an "irkable" statement. Doesn't mean you have to be irked, but you can if you feel that way.

Damn, I swore I wouldn't post on this topic. No discipline.
