2026 Transfer portal

Yup...I just answered my own question by peeking. And doing quite well there.
You inspired me to peek as well: Georgetown to OK State (where she only played 5 games) to Arizona State to East Carolina to …? Maybe back to Georgetown? Whoever said, "You can't go home again"?

I don’t know what to tell you but since every pro league does this across the country, including in SEC states it’s just the way it is. If this wasn’t allowed you’d have no pro teams a much of the South.
It’s all voluntary in the pros because it’s in their interest. Would it be voluntary in ncaa wbb?

Notice I started out with “why would the top players join?”

What do you people not understand about keeping this thread on topic?
And the same thing has been happening in the Player Committed thread...currently many are discussing the UConn lineup when not a single player has Committed to UConn.
I like to look at the three transfer portal portal related threads to see the status of players but...😳

Replace “union” with “players association” which is how every pro sports leagues have player representation.

BTW I think you have it backwards. The schools aren’t forced to only accept union players, any player they sign automatically joins the “players association” and becomes covered by the collective bargaining agreement.

The Union only needs a certain percentage of the employees to start collective bargaining.

Players aren't required to join the Union to receive the benefits of it.

The process likely does remove the non-participating player's ability to challenge the agreement on anti-trust grounds. I think. Not my field.

And she's the third sophomore to leave Ole Miss this year. Like you, I think she's a talented athlete and was a defensive pest when I watched her. A little surprised considering who Coach Yo is bringing in this year. Thought she'd mesh well with the roster overall.
Yo gets as much hype out of being the 5th or 6th team in the SEC as it's probably possible to receive.

.-.
Why are we hearing that players are planning to enter the portal when it was supposed to have closed on Sunday?

Each entrant had to notify their school before the Monday deadline. It's the responsibility of the school to notify the NCAA. I'm guessing that there is a lapse in time between the time the players notify their school and the school notifies the NCAA. Entrants that post their "plan to enter the portal" on social media have most likely already notified their school.
I think that Skim Mulkey, Raoul and Talia, etal probably have connections to the NCAA.

I wonder if this is in response to Skylar Forbes' announcement.
She transferred into WVU last season from Butler and only started one game. So, she certainly knows who her competition was going to be next season. Hmm.

Thanks for adding useful information to the thread!

BTW: I should have added "Not my field" to all my posts on this subject as well. 🙇‍♂️

My understanding is that schools can put a 48 hr hold on notifying the NCAA.

I believe it closed at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 20. So, some announcements are just coming to light on the 21st.

Because technically it doesn't close. The deadline was 04/20, which is for players to enter without having to sit out a year or having to get a waiver.
