2026 Transfer portal

Tell us what you like about her. (And welcome to the Boneyard!)
Thanks for the welcome! She is 6'2" and could play the 3/4 role. I think she makes sense for UConn because she plays the right way. Doesn’t need the ball, moves it, cuts, stays within the offense. Can guard multiple spots, rebounds her position, and does the little things. She’s not forcing anything offensively, which fits next to high-usage guards. Overall just seems like someone Geno could trust and develop within the system.

Here’s the real, clean stat line from last season (2025–26 at Central Michigan):

  • ~14.7 points per game
  • ~7.1 rebounds per game
  • ~1.0 assist per game
  • ~56% FG
  • ~0.6 steals / ~0.1 blocks

Ugh....what in the world?!!? 😖

To me, the "what in the world" is why the AD hasn't acted. Many fans have emailed. The house is clearly on fire and the players are fleeing the exits. At this point next season is a lost cause so we might as we get on with the total rebuild.

It is now 7 players in the portal, including four of our five starters and all three of our juniors. With three seniors graduating, we have five players returning and three incoming recruits, which means we can't even field a scrimmage. And I'm skeptical this is it...

Texas scored 76+ against all of the top teams you mentioned and played the #2 toughest schedule in the country. The stats aren't getting padded against trash teams. Their lowest point total on the season was 64 points prior to the Final Four.

And aside from the Final Four disaster it was never solely the Booker show against good teams. In 13 of their 14 games against Sweet 16 opponents, someone else besides Madison scored 14+ for them. And in 7 of the 14 games someone other than Booker led the team in scoring. Based on your comments I'm guessing you didn't watch Texas at all this year aside from the Final Four. Texas was a very good offensive team this season.

And it's rich that a UCONN fan is calling another coach a whiner after the antics Geno pulled last weekend.
I would have liked your post except for that last line. You sound like the hysterical idiots on social media. Shame on you for coming to a UConn board with that comment.

Maybe @southie can offer us perspective here but I thought Vic lost many people with his numerous rants this season including calling out his team when, if anything the issue was on coaching. To me, he now thinks he’s entitled to special treatment by the SEC, referees and his team. His team was still offensively challenged that relied too much on Booker and her mid range game. I think h th e team was/is just tired of the constant harping but as I said, I am viewing this from afar so I will defer to our Texas acolyte.

Don't really have any insider intel. The two things I've seen from two reputable Longhorns sports sites are that the 3 players who entered the portal "just weren't happy" (no reason given for the unhappiness) and the other wrote that the 3 outgoing transfers didn't want to play defense baseline to baseline all game long. Maybe there's some truth to both of those reasons.

As for your other comments regarding Vic thinking he's entitled to special treatment by the SEC, that's your opinion. And, another poster already refuted your comments about his team being offensively challenged this season.

I wonder if the increased travel has affected the players’ experience?

Thx for the digging and report.

Regarding the latter charge, Jordan Lee -- when I saw her -- was an excellent perimeter defender. In fact, I thought she did for Texas a a lot of what Sonia Citron did for ND. Play D, be the glue and score.

Justice Carlton is an undersized energy unit. She has to hustle.

So, I'm not totally sold on the baseline to baseline stuff. And, to be candid, Vic doesn't need that from them. Match your system to your players. Now, if they're unhappy....

Jordan Lee has it all, IMO, for a SG. Good height, very athletic, super fast, can defend, and can score at all 3 levels. I'm not really sure I believe what that one site reported about those players not wanting to play defense; doesn't jive with how well Lee defends.

Sorry, I don't agree with you that Vic should change his defensive philosophy for a couple of players who don't want to play defense (if that was truly the case). When he recruited them, I'm pretty sure he told them that they would be expected to play his style of defense if they wanted to be on the court. Can't let the inmates run the asylum 🤣

Insinuating that Geno is a whiner is hardly a hysterical take or harsh dig at him. And this is the general fan board, not the UCONN board. I'll live without your like.

Why she fits:

  • Productive (≈15 & 7), but not ball-dominant
  • Rebounds, defends, runs the floor
  • Classic mid-major → UConn role player jump
  • Low ego, high function
  • Can play the 4 without needing touches
  • Fills exact Patterson/Brady gap
"It pays to advertise... correct?"

Yes, I agree with EricSD. Last week is (for me) long over.... It's history (to me).
The "last line" felt like a trolling statement from "The Dark Side". Let's use
this thread for "TRANSFER PORTAL" news and ideas. Z

People - please keep it civil. No name calling, finger pointing. We've already had to deal with this a few times in the las week. Thanks!

Thanks for catching that. I'd like to claim it was early in the morning or late at night and I was sleepy for that error. Timestamps say differently though.

Saying that Geno is a whiner is insulting to him and simply not true. He's not only the greatest coach ever in WCBB, but one of the greatest ambassadors for the game. You say he's a whiner? Then back it up and give us examples. And this is all part of the Boneyard. It's a subset of the UConn women's basketball board.

Guys - it's been an incredibly long week for the mods for both M&W BB. Please stop this back and forth bickering. This is the transfer thread. You wanna argue? There's an option to have private conversations with whomever you want.

Thanks for taking the time to pull that together. Very helpful to have the information all in one place. 🙏

As an aside, realizing that there's a player from my D3 college in the portal ... phew.
