2026 Transfer portal

Duke is limited to what they can get in the portal. They can only accept grad transfers or rising soph or juniors. Due to the admissions office only taking 50% of the credits from your previous school. I’m not familiar with Cooper’s academic status.
She might qualify as a grad transfer as she sat out a year due to transferring outside the window. She’ll be entering year five.

I’ve seen rumors of Vandy for Audi but I don’t see it. They tried a bigger post in the portal but she barely saw PT.

I think Minnesota would be a great fit as they are used to playing a slower pace. Grace Merkel out of Penn also a great fit for MN.

It will be interesting to see where she ends up and I imagine she might play more limited minutes instead of a sub yourself play style.

I realize that it's possible to be a senior and have some eligibility left but I don't recall that's the case for any of the Tennessee seniors
And isn't Tennessee on UCONN's 2026-2027 schedule next season?

.-.
And isn't Tennessee on UCONN's 2026-2027 schedule next season?
Yes. The home & home series was renewed for the next 2 seasons with TN making another trip to CT next season and UConn returning to Knoxville the following season.

That's not even true. The NCAA won on appeal in O'Bannon and that was barely a decade ago.
Somewhat true. NCAA lost istoric O'Bannon case opening athletes to be able to earn NIL fees. The point they won on appeal was for each athlete to be paid $5000 annually for college's use of their NILs.

This victory is now somewhat moot, as schools are voluntarily paying NIL way in excess of $5000, and meanwhile 'revenue sharing' has entered the picture...due to NCAA settlement in the House case.

The only player I could see UConn being interested in is a 3-point shooter. That's the biggest loss with Azzi's graduation.
Agreed, I think the only real needs would be a long/quick wing (~6’) who can shoot the 3, and a long/athletic big who can do a bit of everything and protect the rim (similar to Serah). Other than that, our roster is packed with talent/versatility.

Coach Yo parked outside her dorm room wearing sunglasses. 🤣 Mulkey in the bushes fumbling with Cashapp.
Mulkey already mismanaged one season with her best players at 2-2-2.5. Not sure why she’d want another.

My gut says Cooper goes to Ole Miss or Duke. From what I remember of her recruiting, I think she stays regional and she wants to go to a team with potential to go far into the tournament. Those were two teams she entertained during her high school recruiting (and which also retain the same staff). My bet is she goes to Duke and fills the void left from Ashlon Jackson graduating.

LSU?? Also Missouri. Cooper wanted to play for coach Kellie. Vol nation said coop would’ve went with her if Missouri could come up with the money. Maybe they have.

I find the response pretty pathetic. It's pretty clear there will be no accountability and they will just ride out Fennelly's contract through next year and rebuild with a new coach starting in 2027. They are content to blame the new bogeyman, "NIL", and drop shade on other teams losing players without noting that it's only a couple of teams having their entire rosters walk off to other teams. Pathetic, but I do believe Fennelly forced their hand by going down with the ship and conceding nothing by retiring to help save the program.
Thanks for the insights regarding his contract. I had some interaction him at a women's basketball coaches Association conference if you use ago that emphasize marketing. He was one of the key speakers and his approach and dedication was impressive.

I suspect that the powers-that-be are nervous about how the portal was working out, and I wonder if ISU even more so than Tennessee, will be the straw that breaks the camels back and prompts modifications to the rules

Good call on Missouri! I highly doubt she goes to LSU unless it is a paycheck she is chasing. I get the impression that while money is important, it isn't the #1 factor for her.

Yikes. Was she their best player?

Not too many people transfer out of Stanford. Hope she at least got her degree.
Considering she’s a junior, that’s a possibility. Maybe FarmFan knows.

I’m a little surprised, she was a key cog for the Terps this season. I expect Brenda to pull out the full court press for Crooks now 😂

These portal announcements are coming fast and furious now!

A South Bend native? Hmm 🤔

Strange when your Dad is an assistant coach.......

Originally committed to Purdue.
2 other sisters played at Purdue last year.
All three ended up at UT Arlington with their Dad now an assistant at UT Arlington.
Wonder what the other 2 do?

Minnesota potentially a fit for Audi Crooks.
NO,NO, NO! Plitzuweit is all in on defense. She would never take someone like Crooks. To tell you the truth, I'm hard pressed to think of anyone who plays a system in which Crooks would fit seamlessly. Most coaches would have to alter the way their team plays, and not many (any?) will do that. If Crooks somehow ended up at MN, she would spend a lot of time on the bench.

I was hoping last year that she would go portal and end up at UConn. Could she defend against a 6-5 player?
I personally would like to see Nunu have more opportunities to play as a Wing or Shooting Forward, because it's the only way she'll stick to a W roster as a pro. Unfortunately we went from having too much size (the year we had Brink, Kiki, and Lauren Betts), to none at all when one graduated and the other two transferred, and Nunu ending up having to play our 5 a LOT. She's got great instincts and muscle but she's GENEROUSLY 6'2" and doesn't have huge wingspan, but she's quick and a good shooter and I think would benefit from not having to be a team's first option in the paint.

And needless to say, obviously disappointing to see her go since she was part of our junior core. But she is getting her degree and I can't blame her for wanting to go someplace where she's playing for championships (even if conference) than praying even to get into the tournament at all..

BTW: Mary Ashley Stevenson has also entered the portal from Stanford, which is much more surprising to me:
