2026 Transfer portal

Hey, @cancontent, forgive me if I missed this, but do you have any thoughts on Skylar Forbes from a Canadian perspective (high school, national team, etc.)? 🇨🇦
Haven't commented on Forbes in this thread. She was a bit of a late bloomer from a high school perspective from what I can remember.

Played for a lesser known prep school called JA Addison, who also developed Mary Asare who was at VCU. Represented Canada once at the U18 level.

I like her overall game as she has an outside shot. Her game can be similar to Latasha Lattimore as to style of play. Posting up in the paint may not be her strong suit but she's agile enough to get the footwork down.

I guess Maryland's "big" visitor could be Merkle, Crooks, or the center from Pittsburgh

Crooks could be a good move here. Brenda is a great offensive coach and did a good job developing Bri Jones who is another big physical post. I can't imagine they'd entertain Merkle after she committed and bailed last year. After every season Merkle has entered the portal.

Well that escalated quickly.

If Vandy landed Crump, Woolfolk, and Brown they'd be a title contender:
PG-Aubrey Galvan, 5'6 - SEC Freshman of the Year
SG-Mikayla Blakes, 5'8 - SEC Player of the Year. Likely runner up for all NPOY honors last year
SF-Aaliyah Crump, 6'1 - #5 recruit from 2025
PF-Addy Brown, 6'2 - All Big 12 2nd team in 2024-25
C-Mia Woolfolk, 6'3 - 13.9 ppg on 60% shooting last year

Brown comes in and fills Pissott's shoes but is more of a distributor. Woolfolk fills in for Washington. Crump is another floor spacer with length. Sort of like a Pissott offensively but will play perimeter defense. Plus they have (by far) the best returning back court in the country. That's a killer lineup.

TCU lands a point guard from Oklahoma State.

Campbell the last couple of years has thrived on landing 1 and done transfers but all of his signees have 2+ years left. I don't expect they'll land another Miles/Van Lith caliber player this year, but he might be laying the groundwork to create a Final Four team in 2027-28.

I think Gracie Merkle is visiting Minnesota

Hopefully Brenda has enough cash for Crooks. Check out her price tag in that link.

FWIW, there is informed speculation that TCU is paying Lara Somfai north of $1m...
