In NCAA women’s hockey, referees tend to be stricter on any hit that looks like a “check,” and the rulebook emphasizes that body checking is illegal in any area of the ice.
In Olympic women’s hockey, you see more robust board play and shoulder‑to‑shoulder contact as long as it’s part of a legitimate effort to gain position on the puck; the line is drawn at clear, deliberate checks.
In short: both levels ban body checking, but Olympic rules allow more aggressive positional contact around the puck, while NCAA rules are currently written and enforced to minimize checking‑type hits altogether.

Well, Italy hung in there for a period. It was 1-0 after one despite a huge disparity in shots, but 3 goals in the first 6 minutes of the 2nd have made the score 4-0. The USA holds a 29-2 advantage in shots on goal

No, one game they scored 6. They beat Czechia 5-1, Finland 5-0, Switzerland 5-0, Canada 5-0 Italy 6-0, and Sweden 5-0. Total scores 36-1.
