2026 NCAA tickets punched

Fairfield wins a slugfest w/ Quinnipiac, ticket punched.

Horizon - Green Bay
Super game with Youngstown. Green Bay trolled the game down the last 6 minutes. Very impressive. Both teams I thought played great defense

WBIT AutoBids
(regular season champs who did not win tourney and wont be selected for NCAAs)
  1. Chattanooga (SoCon)
  2. North Dakota St (Summit)
  3. Eastern Kentucky (ASun)
  4. Ga Southern (Sun Belt)
  5. San Diego St (Mtn West)
  6. Loyola Marymount (West Coast)
  7. Quinnipiac (MAAC)
So this is the NCAA aggressively trying to put the Wnit out of business. Love the fact that San Diego will be dancing and they certainly deserve this bid. Each year the NCAA figures out another way to stick it to the Wnit

I hope the wnit is able to get the loser of the Mountain West championship game. And I hope that team they get is Colorado...lol

Based on their destruction by Gonzaga I bet Santa Clara ends up in the wnit.

And if Charlie Creme is right (and I hope he's not) I'll bet BYU will be in a position to win the wbit.

This will be the 3rd year of the WBIT.

NCAA realized that WCBB is a growth area and didn’t want a private company benefiting off it. And wanted symmetry with the men’s side where they own the NIT. The NCAA WBIT is the #2 tourney, and the WNIT is now the 3rd level tourney. And the previous 3rd level tourney the CBI has gone dormant on the women’s side . (Men’s CBI remains.)

68 ncaa
32 WBIT
48 WBIT

Colorado St. about to punch their ticket out of the Mountain West. Outslugging Air Force in a low scoring slugfest.

edit--wow, Rams haven't been Dancing since 2016, that surprises me

As much as I wanted the Falcons to win, I figured it would be too much of an uphill battle. My cousin's daughter is a practice player this year, so hopefully she'll get on the roster next season.

  6. Rhode Island 28-4
  7. So Dakota St 27-6

Cal Baptist a few ticks of the clock from claiming the bid from the WAC.

It's gonna be UC San Diego from the Big West.

Barring a miracle Missouri St. is going to beat Louisiana Tech in the CUSA final. LA Tech finished 6 games ahead of them in the regular season standings, but that is meaningless. Tech hasn't been to the Tourney since 2011.

edit--43-38 final, not much in the way of offense in this game apparently

Well, add Rice to the list of teams with a really nice regular season that bit the dust. UTSA is going to win the American auto bid.

FDU from the NEC and about to be Holy Cross from the Patriot.

That's was the first time I've ever seen Karen Aston smile
Honestly, good for her, she should be smiling. I don't think she's a top tier coach and she squandered too many top recruits to name while leading the Longhorns, but it takes gumption to take a huge step down in prestige and yet keep charging forward. And she did what Kate Paye couldn't do, which was get her team into the Tournament. So kudos.

UTSA was the only team to beat them in conference play too. I see it as UTSA getting payback from losing to Rice last year when the roles were reversed and UTSA was the top seed.

Payback is a...oh wait can't use that one here. Revenge is a dish best served cold?

Murray St. is taking Evansville to the woodshed. In the other game, Charleston got off to a good start but is now trailing Hofstra at the half.
