2026 ESPN 2026 SportsCenter NEXT 100 commits to date

I don't like the fact that greedy ND was suddenly added to Jones finalist list 😠 I expect Francis will go the greedy FSU. Lampley to LSU ?
It's quite the opposite, actually, Rooster: ND and Jones were in mutual contact early on, when Jones' former HS teammate, Kate Koval, was still enjoying the shine of the Golden Dome. They somewhat surprisingly stayed on Jones' radar but were clearly not on her "podium" of serious finalists. We'd heard nothing but Vandy or Miami recently, so the announcement of Vandy wasn't a surprise.

The Irish effort towards procuring a guard is primarily (if not solely) geared towards Jenica Lewis, with whom the Irish have had a long relationship. Who knows what the Iowa native will do? She's probably under intense (both self-generated and certainly by Iowa fans and influencers) to stay local. On the other and hand, she's had a mutual interest with ND/Coach Ivey for many years. As my Bench colleague says, there could be two old chestnuts in play here:
  • Go with the last recruiting visit, which traditionally goes to either the favorite and/or local team.
  • If the magic isn't there, go with the team, you've been interested in the longest.

IMHO, it will come down to Iowa or ND.

AFAICT, here are some posted dates for commits. There may be others on different social media pages.

14 - Olivia Jones (G) - announcing today
29 - Lola Lampley (W) - announcing today
61 - Chamiah Francis (F) - announcing today
99 - Syvannah Dawson (G) - November 27
62 - Gabby Minus (W) - announcing today
Prediction rumor: Tennessee.

Thirteen uncommitted to go. Jenica Lewis announces tomorrow.

Notre Dame and Iowa fans paying hard attention to this announcement. Lewis, of course, is an Iowa resident, but she and Notre Dame have long had a "Mutual interest" (a phrase Muffet McGraw once used, that I liked and continue to use) in each other. Lewis took an OV to Notre Dame not too long ago.

.-.
Notre Dame is going to be really, really interesting to watch next year. They’ll have a top-3 player in Hidalgo, a likely top-2 recruiting class, and almost nothing in between.

Point taken (with Koval in LSU this year). Regarding the "almost":

  • It's early in the season, but KK Bransford is back for this season and is a solid contributor. Don't know if Cass Prosper will stick or choose to leave for the draft, but if she stays, she's a valuable tweener.
  • Perhaps most importantly, Leah Macy might not play this year, so she'll be a member of that incoming class (from an athletic eligibility point of view).

But, yes, it will be really interesting and the Irish are in a much better place than they were a few months ago, for sure.

Ah, thanks. For some reason I thought Bransford and Prosper were seniors. If both are back, ND should have a good chance to capitalize on getting to a Final Four with Hidalgo. They need a center though.

Assume the center position will be the focus of the transfer portal in the spring of 2026.

Bransford and Prosper both have medical years to consider using (or not). I'm guessing Prosper is a coin flip depending on how things go this year, while I'm certain Bransford will play for this year and next.

ESPN #17 Kaeli Wynn to South Carolina.

I am somewhat surprised by this.

I'm hoping their relationship will help edge Jerzy towards South Carolina! There is nothing like having a friend to comfort your spirits when you're in a "foreign" land.
Agreed. This can only help SC. Still think it’s pretty tight between LSU, SC and UConn for Jerzy.

I’m just happy for Dawn finally getting a kid out of California. She has been working the West Coast and building relationships out there for 10+ years now.. finally got a kid out of high school. And over STANFORD.. huge! Can’t help but think having kids like Littleton, Pao Pao and coaches like Farrow in the program finally pushed us over the edge.

Curious: why?
Strong family ties to California and Stanford has been the presumptive leader for while. Mom played at USC and coached at Long Beach State and Washington. From what i know which is only what I’m told this surprised me.

Also want to add her dad is an assistant coach at UC Irvine where her sister Jada transferred from Texas Tech.

Like i said. A lot of ties to California.

We’ve never gotten a recruit head to head over Stanford. Literally the only top WBB school at this point we haven’t beaten for a recruit. And I’ve been quoted on this board multiple times for saying that "I’d believe it when I see it when it comes to SC getting a player out of Cali"…

OH, didn't realize she was related to those Wynns. She must be quite a bit higher rated than her sister was coming out of HS.

I’m pretty sure Joyce Edwards was deciding between South Carolina and Stanford at the end. I know most people there thought she’d stay home, but many out west thought she was going to pick Stanford, as she stated repeatedly how important education was to her. Not meaning that in any negative way about the education at South Carolina, but generally top recruits that are vocal about education and looking at Stanford end up going that direction.

We'll just keep slumming it out here with players who want to make a 40 year decision and forgo a little pay to play money in the process. I actually don't really mind because WCBB has become such a seedy underbelly that being the disregarded underdog at least gives a whiff of virtue to what has become a ethics-lite game. All that said, if we're going to lose out to someone, I can't in any way, shape, or form be sad if it's Dawn, who's as above board as they come. I don't hate the player, I just hate the game.

Kids picking Little C over Stanford ?

No offense to Little C

lol I feel confident speaking for all South Carolina fans in saying we are not insulted to be told Stanford is ever so slightly ahead of us academically. You're thinking of the Dookies with those pretensions.

ESPN #96 Tristan Rickenbecker to the Pirates of East Carolina.
