2026-2027 Non con schedule

Wow. I never expected to see that from a UConn fan. Is the bloom off the MSG vine? Say it ain’t so. We want to play all our home games at MSG! It’s the 6th borough. Well, if you don’t count Jewett City. Which is an actual borough.
Don’t get me wrong, I love an MSG game.

However, knowing that we will play BE tourney games AND a regular season game vs SJU there, I would prefer to see us play big-time games as a home-and-home, with the home game at Gampel/Hartford.

Especially with how they played a colossal game of pocket pool with the entire season ticket base a year ago.

How hard do you guys think it would be to get Duke - UConn tickets if they played in Vegas at let's say T-Mobile Arena (18,000 capacity)? Would it sellout quickly or would tickets be manageable? Only asking because there is a good chance I'll be near Vegas around that time.
If they play in Vegas on Thanksgiving Eve, it's a must do for me, regardless of price

That said, here's 2023 Elite 8 price (ticket bought the morning of the game)

... events are a dime a dozen in the grand Vegas scheme ... pretty sure I drank $143.45 of complimentary Stella in the lounge that night, so arguably, the game was free, ha

Thanksgiving eve, so a lot of people may not go to that game.

Uconn Illinois was the day after Thanksgiving and had much less pricing demand than other games.
That game was also early afternoon on a work day for many. Depends on the time a bunch as well

Kansas (H)
Arizona (A)
Illinois (N-Chicago)
UVA (N-MSG)
Duke (N-Vegas)
Michigan (N-Boston)

no idea of it's validity...but this would be incredible!!!

Hopefully the other two will be...

Florida (N-Philly/MSG)
Alabama (N-DC/MSG)

4 top 10 teams plus UVa and Kansas is a tough non conference schedule, especially when the Big East should be a lot better than last year.

UM runs Mara & Johnson back, that just won't be fair. UF & UM possibly running all these guy back is nuts. I
Really hope Mara declares but Not worrying about UF until they get a new starting backcourt that’s better than fland/lee. Gotta do better than Denzel Aberdeen.

"Neutral" games that we play in Boston or MSG that have home crowds are hacks to the metrics. They're treated as neutral court games for NET purposes, but we get a lot of the advantages of home crowds.

And what’s wrong with that? Particularly when we get nothing for playing some difficult BE games across the season except potential Quad 3 potholes

Out-of-state fan perspective ...

The last few years, NYC hotel room prices have gone (and stayed) through the roof, all season

vs (we play Thanksgiving in Vegas)

... 3 nights in Vegas = 1 night in NYC, near MSG

Suggestion to get on it now, book a No Deposit or Refundable hotel, pretty much a no-lose situation, but could be a huge thing if the game materializes, imho

Prediction

8 big games

at arizona
Kansas
Illinois in chicago
Arkansas in boston
Duke MSG
Kentucky MSG
At UNC
Michigan in Detroit

This would be reasonable based on Hurley saying next year would blow this years away
Michigan in Boston
Duke in Vegas
Virginia in MSG
Illinois in United Center

Kansas, Zona are locked..... waiting on another BIG TIME TEAM

I do think we should max out at 1 non con at MSG given the StJ game and BET. The 2024 UConn crowd at Gonzaga (when that was are only non con at MSG) was much better than any of last years at the garden. More than one waters it down. 1 noncon at TD and 1 at MSG should be a staple every year. The rest can be in storrs or Hartford

We are a Global Brand!

To suggest we should roll back to the local Yankee Conference days and play fewer games at MSG, is well ...

The Big East tournament games don't count against the cap of playing there later in the Big Dance.

Too many MSG games? We played 2 OOC last year instead of 1 like normal.
I have yet been to MSG. The East Regional is at MSG in '27 right? I was thinking either BET or East Regional to pop the cherry.

I'm stuck in Ohio - seen them at Xavier, Storrs, Hartford, Glendale and God awful Detroit in '09.

We should move the BET to Chicago every 4th year - mix it up. Traditionalists may not like it, but tradition is quickly becoming obsolete in the new world.
and leave MSG vacant during conference tournament time? No thanks, not risking that.

Being too risk adverse not exactly forward thinking. We have 5 schools out in the NY periphery. We can let the ladies play there that 4th year. I can tell there are still a lot of Val Ackerman types left on this board.

Absolutely not, on Chicago ... great city, fun party town though (have thrown a bunch of events there, including but not limited to NYE 2023 @ Navy Pier), but the region could care less about college hoops

That’s change for the sake of change. NYC is perfect as is

Might be - just throwing an idea out there. Alternative is being stale. Hinkle could be cool. What has the BE done to be interesting? Right now it all hinges on Hurley and Pitino. If not for them the league would be an afterthought.

It's Vegas. You can have anything your heart desires. The only question is how much it's going to cost you.

Would like one more high quality OOC opponent for a true home game, as it stands now either Gampel or PBA fans are going to feel ripped off depending on where they stick Kansas.
Whichever arena doesn't get KU will get St Johns.

Could you use an egg timer please and make sure that a thought stays in your head at for least that long before feeling the need to post it? Thank you for your cooperation.
