I would agree I would like one more in CT

candidates for that may be Arkansas, UNC or Kentucky We are in the back ends of Arizona and Kansas series.

Yeah….i get that and i get the alumni base. Just not a very headline grabbing name. Maybe I’m just stuck on the Tony Bennett years and the boring dreck he called basketball.

I agree it’s probably a shrewd opponent. Likely Q1 but not particularly scary.

As long term "non-casual" fans of this program you should both realize by now that Benedict and Hurley must take the financial benefit of each and every OOC game they schedule into account. Particularly since, as we all know, our athletic department has been running at a sizable deficit for over a decade, according to reputable sources.

So in an optimal world where we are not facing yearly budget deficits, you are both correct.

Unfortunately, Benedict and Hurley are unable to operate in that optimal world that you are both using for your rationale. They both have to operate and make decisions based upon the real world situation of the financial constraints of our athletic department budget of each game they schedule. Be thankful that they significantly upgraded the home schedule this last year (something you, Chief, have been lobbying for over at least the last 5 years) and plan to keep it that way moving forward.

Hopefully they can manage to schedule 2 high quality home games on a yearly basis. But if they aren't, at least acknowledge the financial situation they are faced with.

Actually, you are the one looking at this too narrowly. I don’t dispute teams would rather play us in MSG. However, you ignore the seat donation donors pay. Playing in a conference that is weak except for 2-4 teams, and 2 -3 cup cake games at each location, it is important to have 1 elite OOC game at each location, especially when the Hartford home court advantage is better than it is at Storrs, contrary to what one hears from Casual Fans.

Hurley saying that if we thought last years schedule was amazing, watch and see likely means the UM game is happening.

Would mean we'll be seeing all but Florida in what will be the preseason top 6 (UM, Duke, Illinois, AZ, Mich St).

Michigan has been rumored to be in Boston. Not sure if that is where the game ends up.

Duke in Vegas. Illinois in Chicago. Arizona on the road. Michigan State on the road (exhibition). Kansas at home. And then rumors of Virginia at MSG. That's 6 great games plus a solid exhibition game.

Amazing schedule - UVa is fringe top 10. We get to play the top recruit in the nation, again.

Would be great to get one late schedule OOC game on the calendar.

The staff is torn on that. Reason being you have to give up a conference bye to play a OOC in Jan/February. With the Big East looking better this year, the preference right now is to just to play Big East games once conference starts.

This schedule is fantastic. Makes up for the Big East conference games.

It's really driving home the fact that UConn is a national brand!
 
Sick schedule so far. I agree tho, we should try to scheduler a hotter team at msg than Virginia. They don’t really move needle
