2025 WNBA Regular Season

Anyone else see this on X or Reddit? Some feelings from the Dream about South Carolina fans chanting “MVP” at A’ja at the end of the game.

I love A’ja but Howard is right. Fellow Gamecock alum Alisha Gray isn’t going to win it but is also having an MVP-caliber season. A’ja is always going to have SC’s heart as the hometown girl who brought home a title, but they don’t win that title without Allisha Gray.

I’m sure there was no harm meant, it’s just a weird situation.

Uncouth fowl fans.

More like uncouth ATL fans. Come play in Ballhalla, Rhyne, and I can assure you you won't have that problem... Gray, come on down too, girl! Fowl fans can root for whomever they want, but ATL fans apparently don't feel any need to defend home court.

I disagree. First people are assuming that all Gamecock fans in the area are Dream fans. Secondly, A'ja had a 30+ point 10 rebound kind of night in a win whereas Gray's numbers were pedestrian. If the opposite scenario happened, I'm sure the Gamecocks would be making the same chant for Gray. IMO they were just cheering for the person who had the better performance that night.

Yes, but: I may be excited to see my old pals Lexie, Cam, and Kiki spin through town, but I can assure you my fellow Ballhallans and I are never, ever going to be heard rooting for them more loudly than Billings, Amihere, and Chen, even though UCLA, SCAR, and UConn are three of our bigger rivals. That the SCAR fans could drown out the ATL fans at an ATL home game is something ATL should apologize for - not SCAR!

I totally understand. Honestly I think Atlanta doesn't have a strong fan base, so it's mostly Gamecock fans going to watch their Gamecocks play.

Dang, no Ionescu, JJ or Cloud, and Stewie only scored 12, Lib still crush the Mystics 89-63. What? Harrison led them w/ 16, 15 for Meesseman, 14 for Johannes, 11 for Talbot. Looks like the rookies were the only players to show up for Washington.

edit--NY shot 10-21 behind the arc and had a massive 28-6 FTA advantage. Scored 19 more points from the charity stripe, that's almost the entire margin.
