2025 WNBA Regular Season

95-86 final. LA offense was actually decent, but defense and rebounding was atrocious. Hamby and Plum combined for 51 points on 22-32 shooting. Burrell was 3-4, but the rest of the team shot pretty poorly. They needed to keep feeding the hot hands more, but some poor shot selection at times.

Wow, Brink looked absolutely lost today. Just couldn't do anything...other than commit fouls.

I didn't realize it, but Citron has been a monster in 4th quarters this year. Did it again today.
This follows her penchant all year, both in college and pro's: start slowly, almost deferring to others. Then the coaches say...how about it?
And bam! Her three-pt. stroke the last few games has been stellar.

She was absolutely unstoppable in the 2nd half and OT (she scored the first 8 of the OT points).....only had 4 in the first half. As often noted, she was on a heater.

Now for peet peeve as a player and coach. I was shouting at the Washington coaching staff via the TV when they beat Indiana that Mitchel prefers to drive left. Now, stopping Mitchell isn't as easy as merely trying to force her left, but Odyssey Sims simply puts her head down and goes left. No one either figured this out or had a reason to suggest how to stop it. Weakside help...nah?

And what happens with Connecticut? Ditto Sims and Mitchell just pounded the left time and time again and the "help" defenders (I saw you Morrow...just olyaed it.

Yes, I know they're pro's but everyone can learn and, geesh, isn't an assistant coach doing scouts or a board during the game.
Reminds me of a comment from Mike Neighbors when he was coaching Plum at Washington. I'm paraphrasing, but something about when team's tried to take away her drive to the left, she just goes more lefter.

Saw something about Sophie Cunningham going down with a knee injury today. Fever are losing players at an alarming rate.
Yup, Bria took her out with a rather awkward fall into Sophie's leg that would have drawn a personal foul call in the NFL. The Bria we're seeing these days is a veritable wrecking ball on the court.

Sophie's mom and sister are calling out the league and leaving no doubt how they feel about Hartley via twitter.

I will give credit to Washington, they are playing well. LA just looks lackluster. Mystics are killing them on the glass. If your opponent is shooting better than you (and it's just one of those days, everything Washington throws up is going in), you better do something to make up for it. The Sparks aren't doing that.
Paige will almost certainly win the ROY award, yet Citron and Iriafen are outstanding first-year players, too.

Seattle took their first lead of the game under 2 minutes left. Phoenix up 1 w/ 1:17 left. This has been a good game. AT 1 rebound away from yet another triple double. Nneka doing Nneka things.

There it is. AT now has 5 this year and 16 for her career. It was only a few years ago the career leaders had 3 I think. Incredible.

Phoenix hangs on 85-82.

Who wants the #8 spot? Storm 1/2 game up on LA and Washington. A few days ago the Mystics seemed to be out of the picture but they are right back in it.

Hats off to Indiana for hanging in there and getting that huge win. They are going to be dangerous in the playoffs.

After I declared A'ja the MVP frontrunner, AT wanted me to not forget her name. Absolutely incredible. A'ja, AT, and Phee are all neck and neck. I think it's going to come down to who plays the best basketball over these next few weeks.

A'ja has been hot lately, but Phee leads in ppg, FG %, and 3-point %.

You threw me off. I think you are comparing those 2 players, for a minute I thought you meant Collier was leading the league in all those categories.
