I thought Sue and Megan made some good points in the latest episode of A Touch More. There is definitely some gray area where the players/league could get creative with their requests instead of the all or nothing changes:"The WNBA's proposal is a logistical nightmare, not only for other leagues, but for itself"
Consequences of new WNBA CBA offer: March training camp, end of housing benefits - CBS Sports https://share.google/xKlu8j7ABr34Sv2is
"It seems obvious that a primary reason the WNBA is raising the possibility of starting training camp in mid-March is to disrupt other leagues, ...."
Which is insane given the overall quick turnaround for rookies, the possible schedule flow, and the threat to the other leagues and players being on those teams overseas. Not a good look for the W."The WNBA's proposal is a logistical nightmare, not only for other leagues, but for itself"

My thoughts exactly. The fact that very wealthy people are now willing to pony up $250 million for a franchise tends to undercut in my view the financial arguments of the NBA ownership, Adam Silver, and the current set of owners. In this game of chicken I'm wondering if this ownership group is willing to risk significant damage to the brand.Which is insane given the overall quick turnaround for rookies, the possible schedule flow, and the threat to the other leagues and players being on those teams overseas. Not a good look for the W.
What stands out to me is that the costs for season tickets weren't cheap. There were some who thought the team was being a tad greedy. I take the fact that people weren't able to get season tickets to be a good sign. This is awesome! Congrats. Love to see great news like this. Now I just hope that the players and the League can find common ground and reach an agreement.
One of many indications that there is significant increase in demand for women's basketball. It makes the game of chicken currently underway befuddling to me. WNBA ownership with its heavy NBA orientation knows what's happened to the value of franchises with revenue sharing in the NBA I think that that would be enough along with the demand factor you pointed out as well as the increasing initial investment required for expansion for owners and Adam Silver to move forward with revenue sharing a la. Agree. The context below arguably makes it worse. My thoughts exactly. Akin to poison pill signaling on the limits of the WNBA’s counteroffers.Which is insane given the overall quick turnaround for rookies, the possible schedule flow, and the threat to the other leagues and players being on those teams overseas. Not a good look for the W.
I am very underwhelmed by this jersey release. 🤨😒
Wait, is it just me, or do those "meh" colors look an awful lot like a certain "Little" Carolina program's jerseys...?!It doesn't help that their colors are "meh". I think they should emphasize more of the gray-blue color in their logo.

Watch it! Triad gets by with it because his team is so pitiful right now. Stanford is not as pitiable yay this time,Wait, is it just me, or do those "meh" colors look an awful lot like a certain "Little" Carolina program's jerseys...?!

Whoa, whoa, whoa, y'all have both been ranked this season, and made the Elite Eight or better last season. We haven't tasted either the rankings or the Tournament since 2023...Watch it! Triad gets by with it because his team is so pitiful right now. Stanford is not as pitiable yay this time,
South Carolina uses a more vibrant color of red (i.e. garnet). I don't associate these colors with the "dominant" Carolina in women's basketball. 😜 I think like others have said that Texas A&M or even Mississippi State are closer matchesWhoa, whoa, whoa, y'all have both been ranked this season, and made the Elite Eight or better last season. Also, mostly I just found it funny because as soon as I saw the jerseys, I thought, "huh, weird, SCAR colors," so it was especially funny to see your post that followed it.
The red in question for these jerseys may be associated with one of the main sponsors for the team. CIBC use two versions of red for their logos and branding. Ironically, they are very similar to Texas A&M and Miss State.South Carolina uses a more vibrant color of red (i.e. garnet). So if I understand things, the new proposed bottom salary was $1 million and caps at $5 million with about 15% revenue share? I honestly think those are good numbers for the bottom of the league even with the possibility that their wages don't scale with the revenue. That would have the rookies and lower paid players taking a much larger piece of the WNBA pie than the bottom paid players in the NBA taking from the NBA pie, so they should still be fairly compensated as their % of revenue decreases with each year until the next CBA. OTOH I think the top players would be fairly compensated in year 1 but quickly become underpaid if the WNBA expansion continues as expected. The top 1% of players are the catalyst for bringing in 90% of the league revenue, so they definitely need to scale with the league to be fairly compensated.Starting to get serious?

I had a different take, but it could be how I'm interpreting this part. My understanding was the new model increased the cap to $ 5M, making the average salary around $410K.So if I understand things, the new proposed bottom salary was $1 million and caps at $5 million with about 15% revenue share?
