2025 WNBA Draft

westbeld declared for the draft right?! As a UConn, I hate to give ND players their flowers, but she’s a legit player. It’s crazy to me that she’s not being viewed as a top 10 pick.

Where have you seen this stated by the Mystics? Many posts have put this out as an idea but I don't recall the Mystics saying anything publicly.
The Mystics haven't said anything. No team is going to talk publicly about a potential trade. I raised this as a possible trade about a month ago before Washington got an additional first round pick in the Ariel Atkins trade. They now have 3 first round picks in the top 6. As a UConn fan I would much rather see Paige in DC with Stef, AE and the Fudds than in Dallas with Arike.

Have they announced players that will attend yet? I have checked the WNBA website but have not seen anything.

@ConnMotors Gonna start posting invitees here (was posting them here). There were 15 invitees last year.
  1. Georgia Amore
  2. Sarah Ashley Barker
  3. Paige Bueckers
  4. Sonia Citron
  5. Sania Feagin
  6. Kiki Iriafen
  7. Aziaha James
  8. Dominique Malonga
  9. Aneesah Morrow
  10. Te-Hina Paopao

I am happy Sedona prince isn’t invited. Just because I don’t want Dallas to take her. Nothing personal. I just don’t trust the Dallas front office.

I would assume van lith is one of the names not listed yet that will be invited.

List is in process.

Question: Lucy Olsen or Kaitlyn Chen? You can make a reasonable argument either way.
If I were a college coach, I'd probably consider what my needs are. As a WNBA coach, where they put a greater emphasis on scoring, I'd go with Olsen.

How’s this. Washington sends Dallas #3, #6, and any one player off the roster not named Edwards or Austin to get Bueckers.
No deal. I think LA had a better chance at trading for Bueckers than anyone when they owned the number two pick. I think that ship has sailed.

And now that Seattle has the number two pick, how about they trade it to Dallas along with any 2 players not named Nika in exchange for the number one pick?

I thought that was more feasible when Miles was in the draft. Another highly regarded PG. Malonga may have a terrific upside, but she may not be what Seattle needs.

The challenge with Iriafan is that her jump shot was inconsistent during the tournament, when most eye balls are on her. She can make those 15-footers, but unfortunately, it was a bad time to keep bricking them.

I think she'll be a solid pro.

You choose Chen. Time and time again, UConn has proven they can churn out pros like no other program. They know what it takes make it in the WNBA. That's my feeling at least - Auriemma has a history of developing ready-made players for the pros.

I believe Westbeld was a senior so didn't have to declare for the draft..she didn't have as good a year this year coming back from an injury but I agree with you that she should be a top 10 pick

I wonder how high the little guards will go. Georgia, Te-hina, Hailey, maybe even Azaiah.

5'9" and below is tough to stick in the league unless you have a dynamite perimeter shot or are lightning quick.
